Tiny foreground figures relax on a bluff overlooking the panorama, framed by a feathery tree at right and close-in island. William Bartlett was a well-known artist at the time, his topographical scenes very sought after. They proved popular works for transfer to engravings which could be widely distributed...

Watercolor painting of a schooner or other coastal sailing ship, 11 1/2" by 17 3/4" (19 1/4" by 25 1/4" as framed), signed at lower left by listed California artist LOYAL MAYER (1919-2011). The watercolor is a fine decorative example of marine art in excellent condition. Frame is wood and shows just a little bit of wear which could be easily sanded and restained...

Gerald Leslie Brockhurst 1890-1978 English One of the finest portrait etchings ever created by British artist Gerald Brockhurst. "Henry Rushbury", created and printed in 1930. Rushbury, like Brockhurst studied at the Birmingham School of Art and the two later shared an apartment in London. Rushbury was an accomplished etcher as well... This etching is very richly printed, the subtle tonal range is incredible in person, our scan doesn't .do this image justice...

Etching titled in pencil in lower left margin "Willow Creek Country", numbered 4/40 at center, and finally signed in pencil at lower right, by the noted Montana artist BRANSON STEVENSON (1901-1989). It measures 5" by 8" inside the tight mat opening, and 15 1/2" by 17 1/2" framed. Stevenson is a well regarded artist in the state, with a long history in painting, drawing, the graphic arts, sculpture, and administration...

Original deep etch by Wendell H. Black (USA, 1919-1972). Titled and numbered 7/25 l.l. Signed and dated "Wendell Black 61 by Elaine" l.r. 23 1/4 by 31 1/8 image alone. Some time ago one Connie Elrod offered me a set of the Maki zodiac in a format never seen before or since. These are not pulled from cement blocks. Rather they seem to be printed lithographs. One James Imai, a friend of Maki who lives in California, commissioned Maki to do a special zodiac set for the Lunar Year. Imai seems to have sent a card every year to friends. Imai sent them to his friend James Elrod seemingly one every year for 12 years...

Large round ceramic wall sculpture by artist, Peter Voulkos (1924-2002). Wheel thrown with splashes of glaze. The back is signed by Voulkos. The base is wrapped with the original wire installed by the artist in order to hang the piece on a wall. Dated 1983.
