A French Poster that belonged to the actress Greer Garson. This was lent to the College of Santa Fe for exhibition when Garson appeared in the production of Madwoman of Chaillot. On the back Garson has written the information, shown in photo. Measures about 16 1/2" by 23 3/4", frame overall about 17 1/2" by 24 3/4". Appears to be attached to backing. Nice Art Nouveau Style and interesting provenance.

A large watercolor on paper on panel painting of a classical mountain landscape, dated in Chinese 1980 at upper left (and likely signed there, I cannot read calligraphy), the work measuring 32" by 22 1/2" (the entire panel 40 1/2" by 30 1/2" with metal frame, loose/no glass). The artist was obviously familiar with centuries of Chinese classical landscapes. There is light wear in several places but nothing serious. The work is loose within the frame and can be shipped with or without it.

Original etching by Wendell Black (USA, 1919-1972), started in 1961. Black was still working on this etching when he passed away 18 years later. First edition artist proof, posthumously printed by Berkley Chappell. No lifetime edition exists. Signed and dated "Wendell Black 61 by Elaine" l.r. A work over forty years old but very contemporary and stylish in feeling, a watercolor of young female bicycle riders at the beach perhaps, 14" by 21" (23" by 29" framed), signed at lower right by well listed California artist DOUGLASS EWELL PARSHALL (1899-1990). The work is also titled "CYCLISTS" on backing, where the artist has signed again, dated it 1972, and wrote address and, on an affixed sheet, "For West Coast Watercolor Soc'y"...
A nicely painted portrait of a fashionably dressed attractive young woman, done in watercolor on natural wafer. The sitter is wearing a lace-edged blue dress, tightly belted at the waist, with a gold and red brooch centered at the bodice, and a lace cap, The painting and the ebonized wood frame (which has a finely craquelured surface) are in fine condition. Sight size is 2 7/8" by 2 1/4", with a frame size of 5 1/4" by 4 1/2".
This painting is something of a mystery, in that it depicts a fantastic classic castle on a hill, obviously in the Old World, a donkey pulling a card in the foreground......yet, there is a modernity to the work, especially in the somewhat cubist handling of the lines of the architecture, but, also, there's modernity in the entire structure of the image.
