Unsigned Abstract Painting 16x22", highly textured paint of cool white, blue, and brown colors.

Original gouache by Louis Wolchonok (American, New York, 1898-1973). This painting measures 15" by 5" (22" by 12" in its original frame). It is signed l.l. "Louis Wolchonok". Wolchonok is known as a painter, etcher, and author. He studied at the Academie Julian, at the NAD, the Cooper Union, and the Brooklyn Academy of Fine Art. Well listed, exhibited, and collected.

Original intaglio by Wendell H. Black (American, 1919-1972), first edition posthumously printed by Berkley Chappell. In excellent original condition. 16 by 23 1/2. Titled and marked a/p l.l. Also signed "Wendell H. Black '52 by Elaine" l.r. Also inscribed bottom right of the sheet: "Berk Chappell-imp". Provenance available.

By the hand of the noted Polish-born Jewish artist who spent most of his life in California, BERNARD BARUCH ZAKHEIM (1896-1985) is this very early (1929) watercolor study "Mural Design for Monterey Calif". We see an image of a number of figures evidently hard at work in a landscape (possibly harvesting). The watercolor, 11 1/2" by 12" and 14" by 15 1/2" framed, dates to less than a decade after the artist arrived in California...

Gerard Audran, European, 1640-1703, "The Triumph of David". This early triptych by Gerard Audran of "The Triumph of David" is taken from the ceiling of the Sacchetti Palace in Rome. The image sizes are 21 1/4 x 13 3/4 inches with a sheet size of 21 3/4 x 16 1/4 inches, 23 3/4 x 12 3/8 inches with a sheet size of 24 3/4 x 16 1/4 inches and 21 3/8 x 13 5/8 inches with a sheet size of 22 x 16 1/4 inches, all on early laid paper. By noted Scottish artist FRANK COLCLOUGH, a PAIR of gouache drawings of landscapes in Scotland, one of a country lane, 7 1/2" by 11 1/4" (15 1/2" by 19" framed), the other of a harbor, 12" by 7 3/4" (20" by 15 1/2" framed). These are very obviously the product of a talented hand. Colclough was painting as early as 1981. Earlier works are in watercolor (or, presumably, gouache, as in the case of these works), while later efforts are more likely to be in oil or acrylic...

Finely executed pastel on paper drawing of bridges spanning a major river, presumably the Rhein in Germany, 11 1/2" by 15 1/2" (15 1/2" by 19 1/2" as framed), signed at lower left by listed German artist RUDOLF MULLER-GERHARDT (1873-1962) (and sometimes spelled as GERHARD). Though listed the artist is apparently not well known...

Very fine condition, printed on a wove type paper. The subject is Mile Moreno who played in the Comedie Francaise show this image was created and printed in 1898

Atmospheric skilled watercolor painting of Venice and the famous lagoon at dawn or sunset, signed at lower right by the artist, GUIDO AGOSTINI (1870-1898, different dates are shown in different reference sources). The painting, 11 3/4" by 15 3/4" inside the present mat, 18" by 22" in simple modern frame, shows the skill of its creator, with fine detail in the architecture, gondola, and figure, and the pink-orange light suffusing the scene...

Louis C. Rosenberg 1890-1983 American This is an original etching and drypoint by American artist Louis Rosenberg. The title is: The Grand Canal, Venice, it is printed on a medium weight laid type paper. This etching was created and printed in 1927. The image measures 8 7/8X13 7/8 inches. Hand signed in pencil lower right border, very fine condition, nice use of plate tone in the sky and water. A very rare image, Rosenberg at his best!!!...

Alphonse Legros 1837-1911 French This is a fine large etching by French artist Alphonse Legros. The title is; Le Retour du Bois (Return from the Woods), Created circa 1880's. This was part of his series known as Death and the Wood cutter. This pencil signed impression measures 9 1/4X14 inches. Legros was a well known founder of the etching revival in France. This is one of his largest compositions. This image is in the collections of many museums through out the world...

Joseph Pennell, 1857-1926, American, Chelsea Church, unpublished Artist's Proof, etching, Artist's Proof with numerous fingerprints left during printing, image size 8 3/8 x 10 3/4 inches, not included in the Wuerth catalogue, inscribed in the plate lower left "Chelsea Church," pencil signed.

Oil on canvas painting of a matador in his suit of lights, 31" by 23", unframed, not signed but inscribed on the stretcher with the name of the artist and title "portrait of a matador".. This is a circa late 1940's or perhaps 1950's work I would guess, by noted listed artist JOSEPH WEISMAN (1907-1994). Weisman was born in the east but was already in California as a young man...
