Jasper Cropsey, N.A. Hastings on Hudson, NY, 1823-1900. This watercolor on paper is a beautiful example of his sensitive paintings It is 14" W by 9" H in a nice modern frame. It is signed lower right and comes from an important private collection. His paintings sell for up to $600,000.

Warren Davis, American/New York, 1865-1927. This perfect painting is oil on canvas in its original frame. Signed verso and titled "The Ripple", it is the last oil painted by Davis in 1926-27, from the estate of his widow. It is in perfect condition with only a slight wave in the canvas which would easily be corrected by keying out the canvas. The back of the painting is intact with original paper and gallery sticker.

On the back of the canvas it is written "Francios Agman Boudard", "Cecile Dulac Bastier", and Juliette Bastier Saide, and Louis Thomas. It has (3) dates on it being 1861, 1894, and 1926. The quality of this Portrait is exceptional and in excellent condition. West was known as the Father of American Art. Chinese brush painting by Nie Ou. A well known female artist in China, she was born in 1948. She graduated from the Central Art Academy School in Beijing and has received several awards. Her work is shown worldwide. This is one of seven pictures we have. It is mounted on silk brocade. The entire area is 19 inches by 29 inches; the picture size is 13 inches by 18 inches.

In the period 1966-67, Haku Maki did two large series with Song as the theme. There was Flower Song, a series of 10 prints. And there was Animal Song which was Maki’s Asian Zodiac series, with 12 images. It was also a small series with small editions--50 in the case of Animal Song (released in Kyoto, so very hard to find: only one friend has the full set), I do not know who has the full set of Flower Song. Equally rare is Moon Song...

This fine sculpture is by the diverse and talented Ernesto Montenegro. Titled "Crosswalk," it displays pedestrians walking across the street. Montenegro's "magic" gives the viewer a bird's-eye perspective, as if looking down from above on the pedestrians. Montenegro achieves this illusion by dramatically abridging the figures. When viewed sideways, the people have grossly stunted legs, walking down the vertical face of the sculpture as if propelled across the street by gravity...

A Korean Rare/Fine Water Color Painting by Won Suk Yeon(1922-2003): ¡° A Young dancer playing a Korean Salpuri in white and red dress¡± Korea, circa 1960s, framed, and painted on paper elaborately, and signed the artist¡¯s round seal ¡°¿ø¼®¿¬¡± in Korean stamped on the lower left. The actual painting size before framed; 11 1/2¡± x 18 3/4¡±, and after framed; 9 1/4¡±¡± x 14 1/4¡± It¡¯s in very fine condition without any noticeable damages at all. Framed.

Anton Otto Fischer (1882-1962) German-American Artist. "WINTER STREAM" Oil on Canvas. Dimensions; 28" x 21"; site 24" x 18". Excellent condition. Fischer was born in Munich Germany, and came to NY in 1903; he died in Woodstock NY. He studied at the Academie Julien, Paris, 1906-1908. He exhibited in many museums, including the Brandywine River Museum, in PA.

From 1969 to 1974 Haku Maki produced about 15 Big Red prints and some Big Blue and Green. This one,Poem 71-52, was done in 1971. It depicts the kanji for Power. This striking image slices through the black background from top to bottom in a two-stroke movement. In the classic Maki mode, the core image is set off by a black sun at the left and a small blue moon under it; on the other side there is a yellow splash...

Haku Maki was an important Japanese modern print maker of the second half of the 20th Century. In the 1970s his work consisted of many abstract images of Chinese characters, kanji. Most are quickly recognizable by Chinese and Japanese. This one has befuddled and even annoyed some Asians who normally like Maki kanji...

Haku Maki did quite a number of prints using persimmon as a main theme Probably well over 100 He also began doing prints with ceramics around 1980 He probably did more than 100 ceramics theme prints. But the two there only came together in the persimmon and blue vase print shown here (and in an equally rare one with a persimmon and a strikingly beautiful yellow vase also shown here)...
