Watercolor on heavy pebbled watercolor, 10 1/4" by 13 3/4" (17 1/2" by 20 1/2" in simple, worn frame), unsigned, the subject an impressive sailing craft in a small boat harbor. The painting has a nice impressionist touch, and, apparently, some age (at least 1960's or before). On the reverse someone did some math calculations, writing the numbers in a distinctive old hand that is of a previous generation. The clean mat with gold inner edging can be retained; a new frame would work wonders.

Watercolor on paper, signed at lower right with the distinctive signature of California artist EMIL KOSA, JR. (1903-1968). Born in Paris to a Czech father who was also an artist, Emil Jr. received art training in Prague and subsequently in Los Angeles and Paris in the late 1920's, studying with Pierre Laurens and Frantisek Kupka...

A vintage watercolor painting, circa 1965 perhaps, featuring a northern New Mexico church, perhaps the famous one at Ranchos de Taos, although it also vaguely resembles the iconic sanctuary at Chimayo. Or, perhaps it is intentionally a composite of many of the wonderful old churches of northern New Mexico. This piece measures 20" by 24" inside the mat and 30" by 34" as nicely framed in blanched wood. An internet search has not revealed an artist that might be matched to this work...

This is a nicely executed work in watercolor and gouache, depicting an Italianate landscape with majestic central tree, colorful wildflowers at left, and a distant view to the right, signed at extreme right corner "F. Pratesi". I do not see a listing for such a name, (that is, if I am reading it correctly). All photos are taken through the nasty old non-glare type glass, so actual sharpness of the image is even better than shown...

Circa 1960's watercolor painting of a snowy street in New England, a white church at left and bare elm trees framing the scene at right, signed at lower right corner by artist William Carpenter. I do not see a listing that would seem to fit but the artist obviously was talented in the watercolor medium. Condition is very clean. Pastel drawing of trees in early autumn by a large body of water, signed at lower right M. Moore, measuring 13 1/2" by 19" (21" by 26" framed). The viewer is reminded of Canadian art--landscapes of Ontario in the fall, for example--though this might just be a generic scene from the imagination of the artist. A colorful original work with considerable decorative quality. The drawing is slipping around a bit under the mat so will have to be re-affixed to backing.
