The upper quarter contains most of the print, the middle is the colorful area, and at bottom in large print is the word "MIRO"...

Lithograph print in elegant gray and white on black paper, 27" by 22", (and 30" by 25" in simple silvered wood modern frame) {UPDATE: may be currently unframed, inquire}, pencil signed at lower right, and numbered 7/100 at lower left. The title is "Daphne and Apollo", the imagery consisting of idealized male and female figures with leafy trees in the background, creating a most interesting and modern composition that looks almost like a "solarized" photo...

This is Maki's print 71-2, which tells us it was the second print that he created in 1971.

An ink drawing of scrubby dunes, titled at lower left margin "Seascape, after Wm. M. Chase", signed at lower right margin "Hugo Anderson" and initialed and dated nearby 1980. The roughly 6 1/4" by 9 1/2" drawing (11 1/2" by 14 1/2" in metal frame) could be by listed Santa Monica artist Hugo Anderson (1946-)----it was found in the area----but I cannot say with any certainty that that is the case. There being no glass, the drawing has acquired a water splotch at upper right in the sky...

A circa 1960's or 1970's lithograph of two female figures, in the typically dream-like fantasy style of the noted 20th century artist LEONOR FINI (1907-1996). The work is numbered in pencil 32/200 at lower left and signed in pencil at lower right with the signature of the artist. A truly international person all her life, Fini was born in Argentina and grew up in Trieste, Italy. Soon she was in Paris, associating with figures such as Andre Breton, Max Ernst and George Balanchine...

The artist signed at upper left with what looks like "Roth". There is a Montmartre kitsch look but I cannot be sure of a Paris origin...

This is a museum poster or flyer issued by the Long Beach Museum of Art in 1972, advertising an exhibition that year of the paintings of the important and still highly underrated Swiss-California modernist HANS GUSTAV BURKHARDT (1904-1994). The unframed sheet measures 24 1/4" by 18", and bears the complementary signature of the artist in blue ink at lower right just below the black area of the central image. An interesting work of the mid 1970's----original watercolor and crayon drawing of the freeway intersections and downtown towers of Los Angeles at the time, signed at lower right "John N" and dated 10-74.
