Helmet mask with three faces, Ekoi, Cross River, Nigeria.  Height 62 cm. Mid 20th century. Partly covered with antelope skin. An unusual mid-Century Taxco version of the classis sterling silver thimble jigger. Like most Mexican silver of the era, this piece has tremendous weight and a simple charm. The rim is engraved “Just A Thimbleful 1-1/4”. The bottom bears the hallmark of A. Dominguez and the Eagle stamp used in the late 1950s.

A fine, colorful boxed set of six sterling silver coffee or demitasse spoons with gilt and guilloche enamel decoration by the Birmingham silversmith, Turner & Simpson. The delicate shades of the guilloche enamel are accented with white champlevé enamel. Turner & Simpson sold sets such as this through luxury jewelers such as Garrard and Asprey in London. Each spoon is fully hallmarked by the maker. The set is presented in its original fitted box.

A large sculptural vase by Eiraku Zengoro XVI (Sokuzen, 1917-1998) enclosed in the original signed wooden box dating from the 1950s, an era when Japan was redefining its own views on art. This is an excellent example of work from that time. Born into traditional tea ware, Zengoro XVI was with the rest of his compatriots, experimenting with new ideas and new forms, unafraid of a dawning new era. Standing female figurine, with typical coiffe and elongated head, scarifications on face and torso, arms alongside and separated from torso, small breasts, straight legs and big stylized feet. Wood, fine dark-brown semi-glossy patina. Africa, D.R. Congo, Mangbetu Peoples. Height: 11 7/8" (30 cm). The statue is nicely mounted on a custom metal stand. Old accident on left shoulder (local restoration), erosion, otherwise good condition.

Japanese woodblock print by Yoshida Hiroshi, oban tate-e, dated Showa 10 (1935), signed in pencil ¡°Hiroshi Yoshida,¡± very good impression, color and condition (void of jizuri seal).

A nice sterling silver double jigger, the bell-shaped cups joined by a spherical holder, by Graff, Washbourne and Dunn. This New York maker was known for the high quality of its smaller wares such as this. The company closed in 1961, but the generous weight of this jigger suggests an earlier date.

Circa 1949-1955, this is a very rare Hector Aguilar coffee / tea pot.

I can't find another identical to this. Absolutely collector quality. His signature square handle has two wood inserts. Lid is hinged, spout is curved, and the design is magnificent. No repairs, no dents, dings, dimples. Hinge is strong and perfect.

Weight on this is 33.22 troy ounces, 1,033 grams, so over 2 lbs.

Measures just under 10" tall. Handle to spout is 8"...
