Chinese round table of natural gnarled, twisted hardwood roots, and a transparent russet lacquer. The table is constructed in two parts- The trunk-like pedestal base and the rooted edge, round top. This type of natural root furniture goes back to the 12th century aesthetic. Here is an example of the round center table produced during the Republic period, bearing the colonial form true to the Victorian Era.

Splendid Japanese incense container, also known as kogo, used for tea ceremony. The persimmon has a small lady bug sitting near the head of the persimmon. The incense container contains an inscription reading: Rakushisha, which is a small hut in the Sagano district of Kyoto. The hut was the summer home of Matsuo Basho's disciple, Mukai Kyorai. This hand made, gold plated over silver, lapis lazuli bracelet is 7 inches long and 3 quarters of an inch wide. There are seven lapis lazuli pieces surrounded by a wired floral design. A beautiful, Murano glass vase with the 'Mezza Filigrana' decor. The decor of the vase is sandwiched between a clear outer glass layer and an inner white glass layer. The glass is 3/8 inches (1 cm) thick. The heavy vase is 13 inches (33 cm) tall and 4 3/4 inches (12 cm) wide. It is without chips or cracks. There are some fabrication/annealing lines (see pictures). Unsigned. Though many Murano glass houses made vases in this technique, this vase is attributed to Barovier & Toso.

Embroidered in satin stitch and Holbein stich in red, green and blue silk thread, this Pashtun napkin measures 21 x 22 cm and is dated to the early to mid 20th century. Condition is good overall given the age of this textile, though with a few light brown stains and some missing threads. The repetitive geometric design alternates the embroidered areas with others left unworked, leaving a surprisingly dynamic impression.

Beautiful Japanese carved Noh theater mask of Zo-onna (beautiful woman). Carved out of hinoki (Japanese cypress) wood and painted with seashell and natural pigments. This mask is masterfully carved and painted with subtle detail like her very slight smile and the small dimple just above her chin.
