Magnificent hand shaped Shino Chawan, made by Kentaro Sesshu 80-90 years ago. Kentaro Sesshu is a descendant of legendary artist Shessu Toyo (1420-1506). The seal of the artist is stamped on the bottom. The chawan with its great wabi sabi aura comes with its originally signed and sealed wooden box.
No chips or cracks.

Pair of antique Chinese flower ball dishes with various balls spaced over a white ground. These dishes have scalloped rims edged in gilt. The underside of each dish carries three bats in iron red. The glazed white base holds a shop mark in iron red enclosed in a single iron red border.

Condition: Good, no breaks or cracks. Some of the gilt around the edges has worn off
Chinese dingyao bowl of shallow conical form with lobed rim. The widely flaring sides divided into six lobes, with indentations along the rim corresponding to thin raised lines radiating from the circular inner well.
Age: Song Dynasty (960 - 1279)
Condition: Very good overall condition. Some kiln grit and a firing flaw on one of the lobes.

Noh theater wood mask representing the character of Shakumi, a middle-aged woman. The loose strands of hair give her the careworn air of one who has suffered and survived countless trials. Note the slight sag to her cheeks and the creases on either side of her mouth. She often appears in the role of a mother. Japan, early 20th century. Height: 21 cm. The mask is nicely mounted on a custom stand. A few signs of use, otherwise very good condition.

A thickly potted heavy dish profusely decorated in early 19th Century style with Famille Rose enamels. This item was made in China in the early 20th Century , possibly for the Malaysian market, during the Republic period (1912-1949). Condition - very good - there is wear to the gilding but no chips, cracks or restoration...

This Chinese Famille Rose brush holder is 5” high and 3 11/16” in diameter. It depicts an old sage and his young servant in a garden. The Chinese title of the picture is "Mr. Yuan-Ming admires chrysanthemum blossoms." The date on the side of the brush holder is winter, 1925. The artist’s name is Tu Zhu-Zhung. There is a red maker’s mark on the bottom which says New China Company, Nan-Chang City. It is in excellent condition.
