This vintage textile is from Bamiyan province, Afghanistan and measures 25.5 x 26 cm. Embroidered in pastel-colored silk thread on a fine white linen, it depicts in satin stitch the triangular shapes that are typical of Hazara embroidery. The continuous supplementary-weft technique makes this textile reversible and either face may be used as the front. Condition: Excellent (e.g., no tears, holes, stains). Estimated age: probably 1950-1960.

Chinese repouse silver cuff shaped holder with auspicious symbols seen on all sides. Signed signed an appears to be of solid sterling silver.

A watercolor mixed media (some pencil and perhaps gouache) painting of a weathered Native American or other classic male image of the Southwest, signed at lower left "J W Kolstad". The piece measures 10 1/2" by 10 1/2" inside the black mat and 18" by 17" as framed. Reminiscent of some works by Remington or Lon Megargee, this is a very satisfying southwestern piece. Condition is excellent. The date of execution would likely be 1960's or 1970's.

Made and used by the tribal indigenous Aborigine people of Australia, this old Mulga wood boomerang was smoothed using a stone adz...no sandpaper in the outback when this was made... the traditional decorative surface markings were made by pressing a hot poker and wire onto the wood surface forming the running kangaroo and border lines...

Vintage pair of cut jadeite pieces to be used as Chinese scholar’s scroll weights. Stone of olive green color with natural lines and differently colored veins, sides showing the skin of the boulder from which the pieces were cut.
