Rare, antique, Mandalay-style Burmese Holy Bird . 19th century ornate gilded wooden bird "Hunza" . The bird is actually a 2-piece box and would have held small family treasures. The bird's wings are metal and encrusted with glass details. Size H 10" by 9"

Exceptionally rare early 20th century small, complete betel box with za-yun pattern, emulating English embroidery stitching. There are some cracks on the lacquer surface as well minor losses on the edge (especially on the inner box) all visible in enlargements. Chinese serigraph print on rice paper by artist Hon Chew Hee (1906-1993) titled "Junkboat Musicians". Japanese woodblock print of a tall pagoda standing in a moonlit scene, with several ladies walking the streets under parasols, and small shops lit by lanterns along the side. Signed "Tangyu Asada" (1899-1984) with chop and calligraphy. Tangyu's birth name was Benji Asada, born in Kyoto, he was active in Sosaku Hanga artist circles in the area.

Three(3) Japanese Hina Dolls, Meiji period, 9 1/4" to 6 1/4" high, 4 3/4" to 5 1/2" wide, 3" deep, with humorous face expressions were very well executed, carved out of the wood and lacquered, all have glass eyes. Each guys wearing silk garment and hat. Three(3) pieces of accessories came with doll set and the condition is good except silk garments are stained slightly with age and one(1) hat has loose rope.

A Chinese jade vase of flat baluster shape with Mughal style carving of flora and foliage to the body and the cover decorated with lappets. The vase is well hollowed and the stone is of pale hue with one natural vein. Age; late Qing, early 20 C. size: 16.3 cm high. condition; very good.

Early 20th Century porcelain figurine of a Japanese entertainer dressed in a brightly colored kimono and holding a fan. The lady measures about 7" tall x 6" wide. Her condition is excellent/perfect. The asking price includes shipping within the USA.

A perfect Persian turquoise Chinese Peking Glass wine cup. it is molded glass, cut/grinded with a short carved foot. Chinese glass was largely used to imitate more precious materials such as white jade, lapis lazuli and other valuable minerals.

Old Japanese Kutani dishes placed in the carved wood tray. Each dish is hand painted and signed at the bottom, "Gyokuzan". The diameter of the tray is 14 inches. Some gilt wear at the rim of some dishes.

Antique African Dogon Bronze Horse and Rider, well modeled and nicely mounted though one mounting pin came through the lower leg otherwise perfect condition. Nice almost contemporary feel. Size H 4.75" w 4" over all Height 5.75"

Chinese antique small display shelf with stand, made of hong-mu. A staggered shelf in the middle breaks up the square area. The front and sides of the unit is carved with delicate lined details and cusped edges. On each side of both the top and bottom shelf is a little window (four total) and the back is open. The underside of the base has a black lacquer panel painted with a butterfly and chrysanthemums.

Beautiful little cloisonne bronze box by artist Nanaho Inaba of the Inaba Cloisonne Company in Koyto, Japan. It features many colorful little flowers on the lid and is in excellent condition. Measures 3.5 by 3 inches.

A nice and interesting polished Nephrite amulet in the shape of a Cicada, Ming style.

The pendant carved in a rarely seen brown-black stone. This fine nephrite pendant comes from an old German Collection of handpicked Chinese jade carvings of insects from different periods, from the Neolithic to 20th. century. The cicada was carved in a Ming Dynasty Style, but possible from Qing Dynasty, we're not certain.

Japanese Wooden Box, 2 sections, 16" high, 14" wide, 7" high for each section, "Kanji" written in front, and "Kutani" Kanji was written on the side. The condition is old and good.

This Nippon biscuit jar / cookie jar is circa 1890-1921. The green mark #91 is under glaze.

There are no chips, no cracks, no hairlines and no repairs to this item. This is in excellent condition except for the overall crazing.

Han-juban (short under kimono) made of plain weave silk and beni-itajime (clamp-board dye) with hand painted Yuzen design. The red dye is chemical which was practiced from Meiji period (late 19th century), after beni-itajime with beni(safflower), practiced in Kyoto in Edo period. The rarer Katsinas of the some of the Rio Grande Pueblos are stylistically similar to Hopi figures, though often made of pine wood. Hopi Katsinas are made of cottonwood and more simply painted. This doll has great provenance: Dorothy Louise Luhrs, PhD. She taught at UNM School of Field Research. She was born in 1910 and she died in 1972. Old Japanese Kanzashi comb and hairpin set with lovely prunus and birds on a tortoiseshell. Late Edo to Meiji. One hairline shown in the last photo is very minor. We had more than one occasion that we had difficult times locating it. The comb is 3 1/4" x 1 5/16"; hairpin is 6 1/4" long and 11/16" wide at the ends.
