This is a hinggi from east Sumba, probably dated to the mid to late 20th century. The weave technique is warp ikat, plain woven and hand spun cotton. This is an attractive vintage Japanese Cloisonne vase. It is much like another piece we currently have listed but of higher quality. It may be from Ando. The wireless enamel work on the mountain and clouds is very good. Except in the foreground, the enamel colors are soft pastel tones of gray/blue. It just under 7 inches tall and 5 inches wide. There is a minor dent to bottom rim that can not be seen when on display. otherwise the condition is outstanding.

Chinese famille rose plate with a central figure of a rooster with other roosters among lotus blooms and other foliage. The underside of this plate has been covered in pewter, leaving the base exposed that shows a six character iron red Guangxu mark. With the addition of pewter, this dish is quite heavy.
