This very well carved fisherman is 10” high (11 ¼” high with base), 2 1/2” wide and 1 3/4” in depth. It is a middle 20th century product. The long bearded, smiling fisherman wears an old style top and pants. His right hand is holding a long bamboo fishing pole; his left hand is holding two fish on a string. The carved wood base is a replacement. It is in excellent condition.

This collection of 3 hand carved wooden hair combs is from the Nigerian Yoruba tribe. They were brought to the US by a (then young) anthropologist who traveled extensively in Africa during the early 1960's and have been retained in his personal collection until recently.

The taller center comb is 8 inches and the shorter combs on the sides are 4.25 inches. I prefer to sell them as a collection.

A pair of Chinese cloisonne horse decorated with archaic geometric designs often seen in Chinese bronzes from the Shang dynasty with motifs of dragons and phoenixes. Stainless steel paper knife with the handle made of a large natural piece of polished lump of amber from the west coast of Denmark. Best Deep Yellow / Honey natural colour! Amber Lump size: L 8,5 x 6 cm. Total Length 21 cm. Weight: 99 gr. Great patina from age and use. Old piece of amber probably found in the fist part of the 20th century and than mounted as paper knife.

Mask carved in a very hard wood, the design is minimal. However the lines formed by the nose and the continuity with those located above the eyes evoke the shape of a spider. Note a slot on the right of the mask, however well secured by a metal clip. Far north west of Nepal, Humla region, H 34 cm, W 19 cm, age circa mid 20th.

Black mask with an unusual slightly conical coiffe. Africa, Gabon, Punu Peoples. Height: 12 " ( 30 cm). The mask is nicely mounted on a custom metal stand. This Chinese ivory carving of a mountain scene is a mid 20th century product. It is 5 1/8” high (with carved wood base is 6 ¼” high), 2” wide and 1 ½” thick. It depicts a village scene on a mountain. It starts from a boat in a river. Going up the trail, people are riding a buffalo or horse, sitting in a sedan chair or just walking. There are houses, booths, a pagoda and pine trees along the trail. It is in very good condition.

Superb and rare mask with a very refined carving, representing a chief, with detailed coiffe, eyes, mouth, beard and scarifications. Wood, with fine patina. R.D. This elderly man with a smiling face is 8” high (with the hard wood base, it is 9” high), 1 ¾” wide and 1” thick. It is a mid-20th century product. The bearded man wears an old style short robe and pants. His right hand is holding a straw bag and a wooden tobacco pipe; his left hand is holding a long bamboo staff. It is in great condition.

This large carved ivory beauty is a 1950’s product. It depicts a young lady (quite possibly an image of a fairy) holding a flower basket in one hand and a branch of peony blossoms in the other. There is a phoenix leaning on her left side. She is almost 14 ¾” high, 3 ¼” wide and 2 ¾” thick. It is in excellent condition.

Solid wooden folk art carving of a giant penis. Strapped around it are red and white twisted cotton cords (imenawash) with paper strips (gohei). Penises of this size were donated to Shinto shrines dedicated to fertility, in the hopes of getting pregnant. Or they were carried around during fertility festivals.

This is the top part of a longuer pole fixed on bridge for protection of travellers. Vintage chinese peking glass bowl with a gold leaf rim. The outside is decorated with beautiful, intricate scenery depicting an oceanside temple amidst large rock formations and trees, while tiny sail boats and birds float off in the distance. The inside of the bowl has a similar depiction of a small house by the ocean. Signed and stamped on its side, and marked on the bottom.

Chinese carved overlay Peking Glass vase with cranes in flight amongst lily pads and tall grasses. In excellent condition with just some normal age related wear/mirco abrasions on the bottom, it measures 11.25" high (28.6 cm).

Beautiful decorative vintage pair of fu dog and flower glass vases. White background is styled in cloud like waves, with red overly. Fu dogs on each vase, are standing on a cloud, neck arched up looking at the sun, and a floating buddhist sutra box.
