A small twin-handled bronze censer, finely casted and with good patina. The base carries a rare two character seal script mark which reads "Cang Ju". It was probably made in the 17th Century, during the late Ming or early Qing dynasty. This item is from the collection of a British architect who was born in China and lived in Shanghai. It came to the UK with him in 1931. Condition - excellent - no damages. 10cm (4 inches) across; 5.5cm (2.5 inches) high. Weight - 425gm (15oz).

A small Paktong Ink Box made in China during the Republic period (1912-1949) or earlier. The copper base bears a maker's or retailer's mark which, unfortunately, is too worn for us to read. Condition - wear to the base, consistent with many years of use, otherwise very good. 4.4cm (1.75ins) long; 3.2cm (1.25ins) wide; 2cm (0.8ins) deep.

A very finely carved oval-shaped white jade falconer's plaque depicting a five-clawed dragon amongst scrolling foliage. This item was probably made in China in the 18th Century during the reign of the Qianlong Emperor (1736-1795). Condition - very good - there are two chips to the reverse side (please see enlargement 2), no further damages or losses. 9.5cm (3.75ins) long; 5.3cm (2.1ins) wide.

A black and white Aboriginal subject earthenware dish or wall plaque, made circa 1965, by Studio Anna, Australia. condition - there are small under-rim chips and there is a crackled glaze to the reverse; no repairs or restoration. 24.5cm (9.7inches) diameter.

A finely carved Striped Ebony (Diospyros ebenum) bust of a lady made in Bali circa 1930-1960. Condition - excellent - no damages and no repairs. 26cm (10.2inches) high; 16cm (6.25inches) wide. Weight 1.6kg.

A small finely carved hardwood panel, with gold lacquered border, depicting a Scholar on a bridge in a mountain landscape and encased in a silver wire inlaid frame. The panel and frame were made during the reign of the Guangxu emperor (1875-1908). Condition - the frame has been crudely re-glued and would benefit from restoration； the panel itself is in excellent condition with no damages or losses. The frame - 22.3cm (8.8inches) high; 10.6cm (4.2inches) wide. Panel - 20cm high; 7.5cm wide.

清光绪 硬木（估为紫檀）雕高士赏游图小嵌板
一件雕刻精美的硬木小嵌板，四周镶金边，上刻有高士赏游图，嵌板外围有错银木框。嵌板和错银木框约作于清光绪年间。

A rare mirror black "famille noire" enamelled jar and cover depicting two birds perched on a branch of iron red flowering prunus blossom over green enamelled rockwork. This item is decorated in late Kangxi style (circa 1700-1720) but it was made later, during the reign of the Guangxu emperor (1875-1908). Condition - there is a hairline crack to the cover (please view enlargement 9); the jar itself is in excellent condition with no damages and no restoration. 14.5cm (5.75inches) high.

A very large, exceptionally finely cast, bronze censer in Ming form but with archaic (Zhou) style decoration of Imperial quality. The base carries the six character reign mark of the Ming Xuande emperor (1426-1435) but this item was made in China later, during the early 18th Century. Condition - there is old impact damage with an old repair - please view enlargements 5,6,7 and 8; also the five clawed dragons on the base have had a single claw removed; no further damages or restoration. A very finely painted Chinese blue and white vase painted in late 17th Century 'Transitional' style. The base carries the four character mark of the Kangxi emperor but this item was made later during the 19th Century. Condition - there is a small impact chip to the shoulder and associated old body cracks (please see pictures no.3 and no.9 ) and there is production glaze loss ('fritting') to the base rim (see enlargement no. 8). 26cm (10.3 inches) high.

A thickly potted heavy dish profusely decorated in early 19th Century style with Famille Rose enamels. This item was made in China in the early 20th Century , possibly for the Malaysian market, during the Republic period (1912-1949). Condition - very good - there is wear to the gilding but no chips, cracks or restoration. 28.8cm (11.4inches) diameter; weight 1.2kg (2lbs11oz).

A small Paktong Ink Box with engraved landscape decoration, made in China during the Republic period (1912-1949) or earlier. The copper base bears a shop or retailer's mark which reads "Yong Fa Chang". This item was made in the late 19th Century for export, possibly during the reign of the Tongzhi emperor (1862-1874) when this style was first introduced. Condition - excellent no damage and no restoration. 13.5cm (5.3inches) high; weight 0.76kg (1lb10oz)

A small jar decorated in early 18th Century Kangxi style with Famille Verte / Wucai enamels depicting a legendary battle scene possibly from from the historical epic novel "San Guo Zhi Yan Yi" (Romance of the Three Kingdoms) attributed to the 14th Century novelist Luo Guanzhong. This item was made for export during the late 19th/early 20th Century, probably during the reign of the Guangxu emperor (1875-1908). Condition - very good - no damages and no restoration. 12cm (4.7ins) high.

A rare finely painted porcelain bottle vase decorated in what is known in America as the "Fitzhugh" pattern. This item was produced, probably for export to the USA, either late in the Qianlong reign (1736-1795) or during the reign of the Jiaqinq emperor (1796-1820). Condition - there is glaze loss and minor chipping to the rim; no further damage and no restoration. 25cm (9.9inches) high.

A richly patinated carved wood figure of a seated drum playing musician. This item was made in Bali, circa 1900-1940, during the first half of the 20th Century. Condition - very good - there is a small chip to the head-dress (please view enlargement 11) - no further damage and no repairs. 18cm (7 inches) wide; 32cm (12.5 inches) high.

A small carved seated figure of an official made in China during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) or earlier. Condition - there are some losses to the wood and there are extensive losses to the old paintwork and gilding. 12cm (4.7 inches) high.

A rare heavy, and very finely modeled and decorated, Russian bisque figure group depicting a mother and child. This item was made in late 19th Century by the Gardner Porcelain Factory. The base carries the impressed "Gardner" mark in Cyrillic and the Moscow Coat of Arms mark printed in red. Condition - the tips of two of the baby's fingers are missing (enlargement 12) and there is a chip to the small milk ? pot (enlargements 10 & 11); otherwise excellent - no additional damages and no repairs or restoration. 16.5cm (6.5 inches) high. Weight - 916 gm (32 oz).

19世纪沙皇俄国 莫斯科 著名佳德纳瓷厂产母婴瓷人像
一件胎体厚重、工艺精美的俄国素胎上彩母子人像。作于19世纪末的佳德纳（Gardner）瓷厂，此瓷厂曾一度向沙皇宫廷提供瓷器作品。瓷像底部有模印的用俄语书写的“佳德纳”字样，以及代表莫斯科的红色徽章印记。

A very finely carved Huang Yang ("Boxwood") figure group depicting Lu Xing, one of the three Daoist Star Gods. On the back is carved the seal mark of Jing Fu who was active in China during the Republic period (1912-1949) and who was the first student of the famous Huang Yang wood carver Zhu Zichang. There is a very similar carving by Jing Fu in the collection of Wen Zhou Museum, Zhejiang Province - we will be happy to email a link to the carving in the museum on request. Condition - very good - it is lacking its original stand; there are two small chips to the base (back) and an age crack to the left of Lu Xing's foot (please view enlargement 8). Additional pictures are available on request. 17cm (6.7inches) high.

A finely engraved ladies silver pocket watch with enamel face and in velvet English retailer's box. This item was made in France, circa 1890-1910. Condition - very good and fully working. 4cm (1.5 inches) diameter.

An earthenware terracotta bottle vase and stopper. The vase is decorated with transfer printed "famille rose" enamels depicting flowers birds and marine life. This item was made by Watcombe pottery, Torquay, which was operational from 1869 to 1883. The base carries the impressed date mark for October 1878. Condition - very good - there is a small chip to the footrim (please view enlargements) and a tiny chip to the underside of the cover; there are also minor losses to the enamels. 31cm (12 inches) high.

A very finely potted and finely painted blue and white vase depicting three five-clawed dragons, amongst cloud scrolls, in pursuit of flaming pearls and above stylized breaking waves. The base carries the six character seal mark of the Qianlong emperor (1736-1795) but, after three years deliberation, we have come to the conclusion that this item was probably made later, circa 1880-1920, during the late Qing or early Republic periods. Provenance - purchased by ourselves in January 2009 as part of the estate of a family with banking connections who were in Shanghai in the 1920s and 1930s. Condition - the base is drilled through the reign mark - otherwise excellent condition with no further damage and no restoration. Please note: when we acquired this vase it was enclosed within a 1920s or 1930s electric light fitting which was removed by ourselves with great difficulty (please view enlargements). 33.5cm (13.25 inches) high. Weight - 1.125kg (2lb 7.75oz).

精致的乾隆款青花云龙纹观音瓶 或应稍晚
一件精致的乾隆款青花云龙纹观音瓶。底有“大清乾隆年制”六字篆书款，但估为后世1880-1920年间清末民初时期所做。

A bowl, made in imitation of late Qing Imperial style, with two roundels - one depicting a five clawed Dragon and the other a Phoenix - both separated by two iron red bats and above stylized breaking waves. The base carries what is probably the factory mark which, in Pinyin, reads "Jiu Jiang Hui Kang Chu Pin". This item was made in China in the 1940s during the late Republic period. For a dated bowl, with similar decoration, please view item # 1149532 (stock # 789) in our catalogue. Condition - very good - no damages and no restoration. 12cm (4.5ins) diameter.

A rare large bronze paper weight in the form of a Qilin, made in China during the late Ming / early Qing "Transitional" period, circa 1620 - 1680. Condition - very good - the tip of one ear is missing - no further losses and no repairs. 13.5cm (5.3ins) long. Weight: 908gms (32oz).

A small underglaze blue decorated stem dish painted inside with three 17th/18th Centuty style cranes and outside with three bats. The stem is decorated with buddhist knots and stylized plantain leaves. To the inside of the base is the four character mark of the Kangxi emperor (1662-1722) but this item was probably made later, during the 19th Century. Condition - there are two repairs to the rim, each with an associated short hairline. No further damages or restoration. 2.75inches(7cm) high, 4 inches(10cm) diameter.

An intricately carved soapstone wine (or tea) pot with attractive "Chicken Blood" red inclusions. This item was made in China, circa 1870-1900, during the late Qing dynasty. Condition - the spout has been broken and re-glued; there are minor chips to the prunus branch decoration and to the tip of the spout 19cm (7.5 inches) long; 10cm (4 inches) high. Weight - 740gm (23oz).

A carved sandstone Khmer relief fragment in (Mahayana Buddhist) Angkor Wat style and mounted on a stand. This item was carved in what is now Cambodia, probably during the reign of King Jayavarman VII (1181–1215 AD). . Condition - very good - the edges are damaged but, although weathered, there are very few surface losses. 60cm long. Please note: we regret that, because this item is very heavy and difficult to post, we will be unable to ship internationally.

A carved sandstone Khmer relief fragment in (Mahayana Buddhist) Angkor Wat style depicting a Buddha head under two parasols, flanked by a pair of fans and mounted on stand. This item was carved in what is now Cambodia, probably during the reign of King Jayavarman VII (1181–1215 AD). Condition - there are chips, the edges are damaged (please view enlargements) and there is weathering and associated iron oxidation to the surface. 56cm long; 35cm wide; 18cm deep. Please note: we regret that, because this item is very heavy and difficult to post, we will be unable to ship.

A large bottle vase painted in Qianjiang style with eight fishes swimming amongst aquatic plants. On one side is a poem which reads "A fisherman I am not, using brush as fishing rod. Casually sketch a few fishes, then look into the painting on the pot. Winter of Ji Si year (1929). Tie Jian Zi Deng Bishan painted at Zhu Shan Mountain." On the base is the seal mark "Bishan". Deng Bishan was one of a very famous group of artists known as The Eight Friends. We believe that this item was made during the Republic period but we do not think it was painted by the hand of Deng Bishan . Condition - very good - there is an old hairline just above the base (please view enlargement 8); no further damages and no restoration. 40cm high.

A large porcelain jar with original cover (and fitted wood stand) painted in Kangxi style in underglaze blue with flowering "prunus" branches. This item was made for export in the late 19th or early 20th Century, probably during the reign of the Guangxu emperor (1875-1908). A well modelled and painted glazed and "biscuit" figure of Budai made in China during the Republic period (1912-1949). On the base is the mark: Man Yi Sheng Zao - "Made by Man Yi Sheng". This item was brought to the UK by a Liverpool seaman during either the 1930s or 1940s. Condition - excellent - no damages and no restoration. 18cm (7inches) high; 18cm (7inches) wide.

A rare well potted jar with fine porcelain body and very well painted, in under glaze blue, depicting two flying phoenix amongst scrolling foliage. The base carries the six character reign mark of the Kangxi emperor (1662-1722) but this item was made later, in the 19th Century, probably circa 1800-1850 during the reign of either the Jiaqing or the Daoguang emperor. Condition - excellent - no damages and no repairs or restoration. 15cm (6 inches) high.

A late 18th or early 19th Century Famille Rose enamelled jar made in China, probably for export, during the reign of the Jiaqing emperor. For comparison (of enamels) we have pictured two export Lion Joss Stick Holders (usually dated either late Qianlong or Jiaqing, circa 1800) in our last enlargement. Condition - very good - there are no damages and there has been no restoration. 16cm (6.3inches) high. Weight - 900gms (approx 2lb).

A Cloisonne Enamel vase depicting two Manchurian Cranes, made in Japan for export during the Meiji period (1868-1911). Condition - there is an under rim chip and one to the body (please view enlargements 8 & 9); there are very minor losses to the enamel and there are stress cracks. There have been no repairs or restoration. 18cm (7inches) high.

A large silk satin fan, with sixteen gilt decorated wood "sticks", hand-painted depicting four birds amongst flowering prunus or cherry branches. This item is made with Chinese silk but was probably made in France and was retailed in Liverpool - unusually complete with its original box which carries a dispatch date of 9th November 1898. This item is in very good unused condition. 34cm (13.3inches) long; 62cm (24.3inches) wide when extended.

A very well patinated wood carving, with silver wire inlay, depicting the Daoist Immortal Li Tieguai. This item was made, circa 1750-1850, probably during the reign of either the Jiaqing or Qianlong emperors. For similar please view identically carved and decorated figures of six of the Eight Daoist Immortals in the collection of the Field Museum, Chicago ( illustrated on page 115 in "The Arts of China after 1620" by William Watson & Chuimei Ho, 2007, Yale University Press, ISBN 0-300-073933). Condition - excellent - no damages and no repairs. 28cm (11 inches) high.

A finely painted famille rose enamelled deep dish made in China, circa 1730, for export to Europe during the reign of the Yongzheng emperor (1723-1735). Condition - this item has been broken into pieces and repaired (please view enlargements). 22cm (8.7inches) diameter.

A fine,large and very rare eight sided documentary vase (with fitted wood stand) - decorated in Chinese scholar's taste and bearing two poems. The first, small poem on the neck of the vase, describes the under glaze blue painted picture on the reverse side. Roughly translated - "Fisherman looks across riverbank - there are Huang Yang trees. There are three roads leading home and he carries a 'dan' (two baskets with carrying yoke). He is wearing a raincoat and hat and it is raining - he sees a farmer riding a buffalo. Cold brush and ink stone can make good article." The longer poem, inscribed in eight lines and written in sixteen seven character sentences, is the Fisherman's narrative story and can be translated as follows - "He walks through the trees - returning home at noon. Children are laughing outside the door. He is asked why he has finished fishing so early? He watches a bird catch a crab on the edge of a sand bank. He removes his brown clothes and goes to get some fire wood. White clouds are over the ground and the colour matches his shoes. His wife tells him to be careful when carrying the dan. 'Don't go to the high places or dangerous cliffs'. Farming is hard work - busy by day busy by night. He asks how much food (grain) is left in store. Old lady (his wife) smiles and points to the foot of the mountain. The wheat is green and the barley is yellow (they have enough food). The child,with his hair in the shape of a bun, is sleeping on the ground. Light rain (like mist) gives the fields the appearance of being covered with smoke. When he awakes he doesn't see his son - who is studying. He travels long distances through beautiful places - flowing river and falling flower petals - looking for him." This item was made in the Jingdezhen kilns, Jiangxi province south China, probably during the fist half of the 19th Century circa 1800 - 1850. Condition - there are two chips to the rim (one large and one small) and there is one chip to the shoulder There are no cracks and there has been no restoration. Height - 43cm (17 inches).

稀有的19世纪中国青花诗画八棱大花瓶（带座）

A larger than average ovoid jar (without cover) profusely decorated with Famille Rose enamels depicting stylized lotus scrolls enclosing two large panels and two small peach shaped panels. The panels are painted with peony, lotus and other flowers; one panel depicts an egret amongst water plants. This item was made in China in the late 18th or early 19th Century, circa 1790-1820 during the Qianlong or Jiaqing reign. Condition - there is wear and some losses to the enamels but there are no chips, no cracks and there has been no restoration. 26.5cm (10.3inches) high.

A deep dish or shallow bowl delicately painted with famille rose enamels depicting two historical figures with their titles and accompanying poems and with a peach and bat to the centre. The base carries the reign mark of the Daoguang emperor and this item was possibly made during his reign. Condition - there are chips and cracks to the rim - please view enlargements - would make a good study piece. 16cm (6.25inches) diameter; 3cm (1.2inches) deep.

A finely cast bamboo shaped vase with applied bamboo leaf branch decoration. This item was made in China for the scholar's table in the 17th Century. A rare carved ivory Netsuke in the form of a Lion or Karashishi, made in Japan in the Edo / Tokugawa period (1600-1868), probably during the 18th Century. Condition: Excellent - age yellowing and cracks - no damages or losses and no restoration. 4cm (1.6inches)long; 3.6cm (1.3inches) high; 2.4cm (0.9inches) deep. Please note - purchasers from outside the European Union will require a CITES Certificate and may also require import documentation within their own country.

A heavy porcelain fish bowl decorated in traditional Chinese taste in 17th Century Transitional style with a continuous panoramic landscape. Above the base is a band of 14th/15th Century style breaking waves: above the landscape is a Ruyi / floral border. Condition: there is a three way star crack to the base - one , which has an associated chip to the footrim, runs down one side of the bowl from top to bottom and a second runs half way up one side (please view enlargements); no further damages and no restoration. 30cm (12inches) high; 36cm (14inches) diameter

A rare Mahogany table with deeply carved traditional West African style geometric decoration and with elegant stylized antelope form legs. The European shape and African decoration suggests that this item was made for European clients during the Colonial period, is probably Igbo from eastern Nigeria, and was possibly exported to the UK in the 1950s or 1960s during the period of transition to Independence. Condition: very good - no damages or repairs. Top 74cm (29.1 inches) x 58.5cm ( 23 inches). 67 cm ( 26.3 inches) high

A blown moulded Art Nouveau green Loetz glass vase with 'Cherry Sprig' pewter mounts, probably designed by Frederich Adler, and made by Orion Pewter, Nuremberg, Germany circa 1905. A similar vase is illustrated in "20th Century Pewter" by Paul Carter Robinson (2012) ISBN 978 1 85149 6150. Condition: there are some very small surface nicks to the glass and slight bumps to the pewter; no cracks, losses or repairs. 10cm (4 inches) high; 11cm (4.3inches) across.

An attractively enamelled Kutani porcelain figure of a Geisha made in Japan for export circa 1890-1910. Condition: Good - there are, easily restored, minor losses to the black enamels; no chips or cracks and no repairs or restoration. 29.5cm (11.6inches) high.

A stainless steel "Campden" candelabrum designed by award winning silversmith and industrial designer Robert Welch for Old Hall and manufactured circa 1957. Condition: excellent with very little sign of wear and original teak wood feet still intact. 23.2cm (9.1inches) high.

An archaic style vase with crackle-glaze and simulated metal mounts. On the base is the apocryphal mark of the 15th Century (Ming) Chenghua emperor but this item was made much later , in the 19th Century, probably during the reign of the Tongzhi emperor (1862-1874) when this style was first introduced. A rare thinly potted and extremely well painted deep dish with exceptionally fine porcelain body. The base carries the six character reign mark of the Jiajing emperor (1522-1566) enclosed within a double circle but this item was probably made later, in the 16th/17th Century, during the reign of the Wanli emperor (1573-1619). Condition: there is production glaze loss (fritting) to the rim but no cracks or damages and no restoration. 15cm (6 inches) diameter; 3.2cm (1.25inches) high. 894
