Wonderful wooden pipe case and tobacco pouch. The pipe case contains the original pipe, made of paktong and bamboo. The pouch in the shape of Daruma,made of softwood and boxwood with inlaid mother of pearl eyes. Dimensions: pipe case L. 23 cm, the pouch H. 10,5 cm, W. 7 cm. Condition: excellent. Age: Late Edo, first half 19th century.

Boxwood pipe case and tobacco pouch made of a gourd with a boxwood Daruma face with inlaid mother of pearl eyes. Japan, late Edo, 1st half 19th century. Dimensions: pipecase L. 19,5 cm, pouch H. 8,5, W. 8,5 cm.
H. 9 cm. The glass bottle with masks on the sides. original silver stopper with spoon, inlaid with coral. Very good condition with nice age wear on the glass.
A rare and finely carved boxwood box. The lid carved with a poem, one long side has a scene with three goats in a garden, the other long side has a scene with two figures in a garden with pavillions, one short side has a garden scene with a flying bird, the other short side is plain. On the inside of the box there painted Chinese characters, which possibly represent the name of the owner.
China, 18th or 19th century.
Measurements: L. 11 cm, W. 5cm, H. 4 cm.
Condition: excellent, with beautiful wear and patina.

A good late Qing embroidered silk robe with attached sleeve bands. Late 19th century.
W. 113 cm H. 102 cm.
Condition: generally good with normal age wear and light discoloring.
Made of painted wood, depicting husband and wife, seated on a chair. Most probably from the Hunan Province. The lady still has a small parcel with offerings in her back. We opened it up and found a seahorse, pieces of stone and mica and other materials. H. 27 and 29,5 cm. Condition: heavily eaten by woodworms, which adds to the charme. The figures were treated by the former owner and are perfectly clean.
With very fine engraving. The lid decorated with email cloisonné. H. 6,5 cm, W. 6 cm, D. 3 cm (2.7 x 2.5 x 1.25 inch) Minor chips to the enamel on the lid. China, 2nd half 19th century.

A finely carved redwood (hongmu) box with carved soapstone ornaments in the shape of elephants. China, 19th century.
Condition: two ornaments missing on the lid, the third one with a repair to the leg.
Measurements: L. 13 cm, W. 6 cm, H. 8,5 cm.
Lavishly inlaid with engraved mother of pearl. Dimensions: 30,5 x 18 x 11 cm.
Exceptional good condition with almost all the inlay still intact, only some minor pieces missing. The wood has some age cracks and one of the long sides is a bit crooked. The brass corner pieces are all original.

A very rare piece, this foldable paktong scroll weight, which, when folded out, can be used as a frame for calligraphy. Finely engraved with a crane in a landscape. Dimensions: closed 20x2,3 cm, opened 15,5x7 cm. Age: 19th century. Condition: excellent.
A finely decorated snuffbottle with a scene of figures in an interior. Decorated in underglaze blue and red. It has a Yongzheng mark. Considering the quality of the painting and the heavy wear to the glaze, to my opinion it is of the period. Any comments and ideas are very welcome.

Condition: excellent, with heavy age wear to the glaze.
Seated on a lotus throne, guarded by two attendants. On the back of the stand there is an inscription : This is a statue (or carving) or Kwanyin, for Mr. Wang (??)'s wife, Mrs. Chao (??).
2nd day, 4th month Daoguang 10th year (1830 A.D.).
Condition: usual age wear, loss of gilding, the ribbon from the crown at the right side is missing. H. 23 cm.

A finely cast bronze ink stone with cover. Marked Qianlong (1736-1795). Probably of the period but not later than early 19th century.
Diameter 15 cm , H. 2 cm.
This set of seven Chinese porcelain bowls comes from the Diana shipwreck. It sank in March 1817 in the Strait of Malacca. The contents were recovered in 1994 and auctioned at Christie's in Amsterdam in 1995.
Dimensions: Diameter 14 cm, H. 7 cm each.
Condition: 5 bowls perfect, one with a chip on the mouthrim, one with a hairline crack. Every bowl has the original auction sticker.

An outstanding piece, this scholar's rock in huanguali with finely carved scenes all around the mountain. This piece may date from the Qianlong period, but not later then early 19th century.
It measures: H 22 cm, W. 14 cm, D. 10 cm.
Condition: excellent, with a beautiful soft patina. A small opening at the top may heve been used as a brush holder.

Rare and large bronze shrine. The central figure is a Jina or Tirthankara. He is surrounded by small Jina's on the back plate.
Each of the 24 Tirthankaras is represented by an animal or a symbol. There is an engraved animal on the foot of this shrine, but it is hard to distinguish which animal it is. The shrine is in an excellent condition, all three parts belong together, there are no repairs. It has a clean appearance due to the daily worshipping and washing tradition in Jainism. It was made in Karnataka in the 18th century. H. 34 cm , W. 20 cm. Provence: private collection Belgium.

A porcelain Kendi with powderblue glaze and decorations in gold, mounted with a silver lid and spout. China, Qianlong (1736-1795).
H. 27 cm. Condition: wear to the gold decoration and wear to the silver (see pictures). The silver spout may have had a small lid, that was connected with a chain to the main lid of the Kendi.
Note: Many Kendis were exported to Indonesia, it is very well possible that the silver mounts were added there.

A finely cast bronze Buddha with an excellent green patina. Burma, Shan state, 18th century.
H. 27,5 cm. Condition: excellent. Provenance: bought from Lopburi Arts and Antiques in Singapore, ca. 2001.
Hexagonal pewter teapot inlaid with brass panels engraved with birds, plants and fruits, all with their own auspicious meaning. Qianlong period (1736-1795). H. 24 cm. Good condition with good age wear and patina.
There is a mark on the inside of the lid. I’ve collected this piece in Beijing in the late 90’s and kept it in my private collection ever since.

Ayutthaya period small gilded bronze Buddha on throne. Cast in two parts. H. 15 cm. Condition: expected age wear, very good patina, minor damage to the footrim of the throne.
A fine 17th/18th century bronze Buddha head with a nice verdegris patina and remains of gilding. H. 17,5 cm. Repair to the left ear (excavated piece).

Bronze Buddha covered with black lacquer and gilded. Thailand, late Ayutthaya to early Ratanakosin, ca. 1800. H. 29 cm. very good condition, only a piece of lacquer missing at the front.
Lovely fluted porcelain teapot decorated in the Imari palette with butterflies and flowers. H. 12,5 cm. This teapot is in in excellent condition: original lid, no cracks, chips or repairs, only minor ware to the gilding.
An export blue and white plate decorated with a bird and floral patterns. Kangxi period (1662-1722). Marked with an Artemisia leaf. Diameter 27 cm. The silver handle was added in 1854 by the wellknown Dutch silversmith J.M. van Kempen in Utrecht(later in Voorschoten). In the 19th century it was very fashionable in The Netherlands to add silver mounts, lids and handles to antique porcelain objects. Silvermarks: walking lion (silver grade 835), minerva head, maker's mark and year letter U for 1854. Condition: the plate has minor chips to the footrim, otherwise perfect, on the silver handle the top part of one of the leaves is missing.

An extremely rare set of bronze figures depicting Krishna and his wife Radha. Very well proportioned and extremely finely engraved. Made in Orissa, India in the 17th or 18th century. Krishna is 22 cm high, Radha is 16,5 cm high. A complete set of Krishna and Radha is very hard to find. This set came from a Belgian private collection. Wonderful and complete sculpture of Padmavati, a Hindu goddess who is worshipped as an aspect of the goddess Lakshmi, but who also plays an important role in Jainisme as the protecting goddess of the 23rd Tirthankara. Wonderful porcelain jar, decorated in blue and white. Typical wanli pattern of swastikas on the shoulder, the rest of the jar decorated with gardens and two flying cranes, China, Wanli (1573-1620). A rare and early wooden Guanyin. Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). Guanyin seated on a throne flanked by two birds. H. 54 cm. The back of the figure has a small cavity which contains a small silk parcel containing offerings.
Condition: age wear, old insect infestations, traces of repainting on the base.
