The solid lacquer resisted well to impacts and the wear of time but the applications of extremely fine mother-of-pearl sheets are much worn or worn as can be seen in the photos.

Antique Chinese bronze cylindrical container on three feet. Decorated with two groups of male figures which appear to be fighting. The scenes are set under pine trees bows with puffs of swirling clouds and rocks. The rim of the container is decorated with a key fret motif. Netsuke - Nice model of the Shichifukujin Takarabune (The famous boat loaded with treasures of the 7 gods of happiness) in carved boxwood. Nice carving details of the whole composition. The 7 deities are all identifiable, the boat itself is ornate, the waves and a small Minogame turtle sculpted on the base. The cartridge signature has disappeared over time. Very nice natural patina. This is a dark slightly irridescent toffee-coloured glazed porcelain tripod censer of shallow compressed gobular vessel supported on three flatten bud feet. On the slightly everted mouth rim of the censer, it has a slightly tilted handle to the left and right. The tripod is designed after the popular Ming dynasty Xuande period style. Cir. late 18th to 19th century.

It has cobalt blue designs of blooming cherry blossoms, chrysanthemums, and peonies on curved branches, and the image of a pair of birds.
