This is a rare and interesting ancient Egyptian scaraboid. An uraei knot is depicted on the top and a Hathor sistrum flanked by two uraei is incised on the bottom. The uraei knot is much older than the Herakles knot and much probably the precursor.

From our Southeast Asian Collection, a good carved, gilded, and painted Monk, 19th century, either Burmese or Thai in origin. Of tall slender form, rustically carved, it's a charming and peaceful rendition of a monk carrying an alms bowl, which is a very quintessential image in Southeast Asian iconography.

Size and Condition: 21 inches tall, fine condition with just some light rubbing to the paint and gilding.

All original hand forged iron hardware including the main drawer lock plate of Pine trees with matching corners of monkeys reaching for peaches, the hexagonal hinged door lock representing the owner's family crest and Furui (old) Kakute handles. Antique Japanese okimono carving of a little skeleton on top of a larger skull. Made of boxwood with a beautiful patina. Intricately carved to show every bone of the small skeleton and the teeth of the skull. The artist's humor is displayed in both style and subject matter.

1930's Japanese Satsuma Tea Set with Bamboo Marked "Kinkozan"

The teapot is 6.15 inches (15.6 cm) tall by 6.4 inches (16.3 cm) wide. The sugar is 3.7 inches (9.4 cm) tall by 5.6 inches (14.3 cm) wide. The creamer is 2.5 inches (6.3 cm) tall by 4.8 inches (12.2 cm) wide. The coffee pot is 10.1 inches (25.6 cm) tall by 6.7 inches (17 cm) wide...

This very well made and hand painted vase is a 19th century product. It is 9 ½” high and 2 ¾” wide from the widest part. It depicts chrysanthemum and butterflies over a beige crackled body. There is a brocade pattern design on the top of the vase. The black hand-painted mark “Dai Nippon, Taizan Sei” is on the bottom. It is in great condition.

The incense burner consists of a thick and solid cast bronze cup which rests on a tripod base also in cast bronze. A cut copper cover is held by a hinge fixed by rivets. Islamic work from the middle east. Very nice old patina of the metal. Bronze very earlier than the 18th century. H:21cm. A hole on the lid (see photo) otherwise good condition.

Rare and extremely fine pair of Incan sheet silver and gold ceremonial deer cups . The hooves ears tails and antlers on the male are in nearly 17k gold . The female is made of 20 different pieces of sheet silver and gold soldered together and the male even more pieces. This set is believed to have been made by Chimu artisans for the new Inca rulers, from what experts have said this is the only known pair of this quality in silver...

19th century boxwood netsuke depicting the head of himono (gutted dried fish). Initially food taken along on a journey, dried fish came to symbolize good luck and health. Beautiful realistic carving (appears to be a head of salmon), wonderful sharp detailing, clever use of one eye as himotoshi. Superb patina on wood, in excellent condition, very pleasant to hold. Length 2.35 inches (60 mm).

Large zushi of square shape with double doors. Outside black lacquer and bronze hard ware, finely engraved with meandering flowers, inside gold lacquer. Inside a sculpture of the deity Benten, or Benzaiten, in her appearance with eight arms. In her hands she holds sword, jewel, bow, halberd and wheel. Other attributes are missing. On her head she wears the typical crown with torii, referring to the island of Enoshima, where the big Benten shrine is...

18th century votive Indian bronze sculpture depicting the mother goddess Durga standing on the back of her vehicle - a roaring lion - and slaying the buffalo demon Mahishasura. Durga is the most powerful female deity in the Hindu pantheon. The seal made of sandstone or ceramics and finely carved in deep relief. The motif is a large horned animal walking, above the symbols of the sun and moon god, the Tree of Life before.
