Antique Japanese large carved wooden tray, natural form and curled edges reminiscent of a lotus leaf, beautifully sculptured, late Meiji/early Taisho Period. Size: 24 1/2" wide x 15 1/2" wide x 1" deep.

An antique Japanese Todana Tansu similar to the western sideboard cabinet or chest made of Momiji (Maple) for the drawer fronts and frame and Keyaki (Zelkova) panels for the sliding doors. with the interior made of Japanese Suginoki (Cryptomeria) wood. Original hand made iron hardware including the Warabite handles. Floating panels for the front, sides and top to prevent the wood from cracks from expansion and shrinkage...

Early to mid 19c light greyish/celadon jade medallion in circular form having a central Kylin surrounded by symbols. Superbly carved and pierced with the finest details with a worked edge having the back indented and smoothly finished. This medallion was probably removed from a cloisonne or bronze wine ewer or censor. This piece is of the finest caliber, showing a wonderful hand polish all the way through and in perfect condition. Size 2-1/4" Diameter and nice thickness...

Japanese antique doll of a Noh theatre actor in the costume of Ko-Omote the beautiful young woman, dressed in a summer robe with gold flower basket on back, elaborate headress, removable mask reveals the face of the actor. Real gold leaf was used in the Kimono design. Late Meiji/Taisho Period (1900-1915)

Antique Japanese choba-ko tansu (small merchant's chest), made of natural Kiri (paulownia) hardwood (original finish). The chest holds a large open compartment with a single shelf behind two large doors, lined with 7 outer drawers. Each drawer opens by a squared, black iron handle. The smallest bottom-left drawer acts as a money collection box, with a coin slot right above it.

Edo Period (1680-1868) c1800

This extremely rare Mimbres reed arrow with a foreshaft and a translucent flint point is 35" long. Everything is original including all the sinew and some feather residue. There has been no restoration or repair. It was found in the four corners area on private property. Cached in caves, bows and arrows from the prehistoric Southwest have survived the ravages of time and weather. It dates to around 1100AD. I purchased it from the Bob Rock collection in 1988...

An antique Japanese Tansu chest made entirely of Kiri (Paulownia) wood. All original hand forged iron hardware including the Warabite style handles with natural age acquired patina. The handles have unusual embossed designs of a crescent moon, a plum blossom and a Bugaku pattern. Drawer lock plates feature the full moon pattern and each section has side carrying handles...

Beautiful Original Antique Japanese sword tansu, made from Kuri (chestnut) Hardwood. Gorgeous original natural lacquer finish. The two longest drawers have Kiri leaf Mon (emblem) iron locks, with a smaller storage drawer beside them.

A rare and fine multi-spiral opaque twist (MSOT) antique English wine glass or small goblet. The large round funnel bowl sits above a stem with a very tight and beautiful enamel twist. The stem is further complemented with shoulder and basal knops, a very unusual combination.

The glass is 6 11/16 inches tall, with a bowl diameter of 3 1/16 inches and a foot diameter of 3 5/16 inches. Rough, snapped pontil. No chips, repairs, or condition problems. Good color, tool marks, and striations.

An antique Japanese Niigata Kasane (chest on chest) Tansu made of all Kirinoki (Paulownia) wood. Original hand forged iron hardware with a hand applied red lacquer finish. Kakute stye handles. Four large drawers with a small hinged door that hides 2 small drawers. Constructed using straight dovetail Japanese joinery and hardened wooden nails. Each section has two sets of carrying handles for ease of transport and placement...

Stunning pulley with a human figure carrying a bowl on the head. Exceptional patina and age wear. This piece dates from the estly 20th century, but might even date from the late 19th century. An antique Japanese Kannon Biraki Tansu (wedding kimono chest) made of Kiri (Paulownia) wood. The top section has two doors with a special lock from the inside that secures the doors. When open the doors reveal one large drawer and two smaller drawers on the right hand corner. The lower drawer has a secret compartment for documents. The bottom section has two large drawers. Both drawers have opposing hand holds cut into the interior sides for easy carrying...

This is a Mezcala reclining figure made from a hard stone. This is a rare pose. It dates to 500C. It is 3" tall. It is from Guerrero, Mexico. I purchased it from Michael Robbins in 1989.

An antique Japanese Choba (merchant) Tansu of hinoki wood and iron hardware. The top section has one large drawer with two handles. The middle section has two sliding doors with slats. The lower section has 5 drawers with a safe drawer with two interior drawers.
