A Chinese mirror mounted with an 19 century jade ruyi head plaque on the back and a belt hook as a handle.The former is finely carved with precious objects; the canopy, fish, vase of flowers, lotus and endless knot, the handle shows a dragon with lingzhi facing the chilong. A fine antique Chinese child's collar with stitch work and fine knitting on the edge. The shawl collar is decorated with auspicious motifs of bats, butterflies, geese, and flowers. Very rare Ca. 1910 bronze zen temple dragon spout used in front of the temple entrance. Water from the dragon's mouth would run into a stone tsukubai where vistors to the temple would purify mouth and hands before entering the sacred space. An antique statue of the lucky god Han Xiangzi holding a Chinese flute, carved from a large bamboo piece with nice patina. One of the eight immortals of the Chinese Taoist pantheon. Late Qing Dynasy (1880s 10 1911) century Chinese glass seal of square section. Wonderful simple piece appropriate for a scholar’s desk, beautiful transparent glass, very pleasant finish to the surface. The bottom is carved with two raised characters, old dried sea paste in the grooves. The impression of the seal is shown on Enlargement 1 (photo is flipped left to right to present the image as it will actually print on paper). Height 1 1/4 inches, 3/8 inches square.

A bronze plate with shaped rim, beautifully decorated, in gold lacquer with sparrows among bamboo and plants. Base signed "Kyoto Okuda sei". Dimension: diameter: c. 20.3 cm, c. 1.2 cm high. Condition: fine, only minor wear and lacquer loss.
This pair of carved ivory emperor and empress are late 19th or early 20th century export pieces. The emperor is 12 ¼” high, 2 ¼” wide and 1 ¾” thick. The empress is 12 1/8” high, 2 ½” wide and 2” thick. The emperor is holding a sword and the empress is holding a Ruyi. The robes are very well carved with dragon and phoenix designs. There is honorable “Great Ming” mark on the bottom of the empress. They are in excellent condition.

Antique Japanese bronze koro (censer) in the form of the trickster, Tanuki. In this depiction, Tanuki takes the form of a monk with a wide hat on. Fine details of his fur and vines of grape leaves wraps around him (fittingly as Tanuki is fond of wine). The leaves on the vine and on his hat are made of cloisonné in various fall colors. There is a raised cartouche on the bottom. The hat can be removed to put incense inside the Tanuki container...
