A nicely decorative Japanese burl Zelkova wood 'tobakobon' (smoking furnishing). Fitted with bamboo pipe holder, copper ash holder, and Zelkova shelf. Two handles of rosewood and sandalwood. Hardwood trim along the top with slight difference in wood shrinkage evident on one corner (easily remedied by a good restorer). Good condition with expected wear and evidence of use. 19th century. Height, 8 1/4 inches. Sides, 10 1/4 by 10 1/4 inches.
A fine stamp seal of calcified (or burnt?) calchedony, Neo-Babynian, c. 8th-7th. cent. BC.
Attractive trapezoid style seal. These seals are usually carved with Marduk at the alter, but this has a rare depiction of a sword, rhomboid symbol (perhaps and eye) and the Sun and Moon for the two major Babylonian deities of Marduk and Sin. A rare depiction.

Relatively large and attractive seal engraved with a running man or deity, a horned animal and a palmtree, crescent above.

A beautiful 19th C. Chinese red cinnabar lacquer lid box is carved with a scene of two elderly sages in a rocky landscape with trees. The sides are carved overall with a diamond pattern. The interior and base are lacquered black. Some minor age crack to the rim, minor retouching of red lacquer to the exterior rims please see the photo. Otherwise is in very good condition. Chinese Tang Dynasty Painted Pottery Horse (AD 618 - 906)
This attractive pottery model of a horse was made during the Tang Dynasty (AD 618 - 906). It is made from a buff-coloured pottery that has been "cold painted" in white and reddish-brown pigments. This horse is well-modelled and stands upright and alert.

A finely detailed Chinese porcelain rooster in a rich blue turquoise glaze with his comb and wattle, as well as the rock form base, glazed in a deep aubergine. In excellent condition, it measures 10.25" high, 7" long.
Please note: Any brown or white spots in photos are reflections, especially in the 2nd photograph where it looks brown at the base of the rooster's comb. It is not brown, it is purple. The reflection is coming from a brown bench behind the photographer.

A beautiful floral cloisonne trinket box with bright red and yellow flowers against a background of turquoise blue, lovely pattern and perfect for jewelry items. Measures 3.5" long x 3" deep x 2" high. Circa 1900, this box has no condition issues. Excellent!

The ferrule and tip are both crafted from turned wood while natural bristles form the full brush. In excellent condition, this is a handsome, well made brush dating from the early 20th C. A triangular stamp seal with handle, Western Mesopotamia, c. 3rd. millenium BC.
Very large for type and with an interesting two colour stone where the upperside is calsified white and the base is in the original brown stone. The seal is engraved with a reclining animal on it's base.
Size: 29 x 29 mm. 18 mm. tall.
Condition: Very fine, intact and very attractive, with much even wear.

A large star-shaped stamp seal, reportedly found Near the ancient city of Antioch, Western Mesopotamia / Eastern Anatolia and dating 5th.-4th. millenium BC.
The seal particularly finely carved in chlorite for this period with deep relief details and a loop-handle on the back.
