Antique, Chinese 19th century Qing Dynasty porcelain teapot and cover with a large rose medallion. The teapot has a tubular body with a uniquely shaped S-shaped spout and fabric-wrapped wire handles. The body is adorned with intricately hand-painted colorful enamel and gold motifs depicting various figures, exotic birds, butterflies, flowers, and more, all set against a white background...

These 3 bobbins aka thread holders would have been used in China when hand sewing was the major activity of the women of the house. Each bobbin was individually carved and each has a small ball which moves freely within the carved slot. Either individually or as a group, they are nice ethnographic artifacts of the Chinese culture during the Qing dynasty.

Height approximately 44 cm. Few soft chips at the rim. In good condition.

This is a very fine old Chinese shallow bowl made in the popular Butterfly pattern. It is in very good condition with minor wear and a tiny flea bite to the glaze on the rim. It measures 9 1/2 inches across and 1 1/2 inches deep.

Hawk. Painted with ink on paper. Sealed. Circa late 19th C.

Lovely almost art deco Edo Period ceramic bowl from a Kiln in Kyoto. Signed and known as Kiyomizu yaki from the famous pottery area of Kiyomizu in Kyoto. Comes in the original paulownia wood box. Antique fixes on lip in gold leaf. Beautiful condition. H:5" x diameter: 7". Ask for shipping quote.

Two baskets are being offered here and both are from the Northeast, most probably from the Penobscot of Maine. They are lidded, made of splint ash, and use natural dyes of green and orange.

Basket 1, although it has a square base, is 14 3/4" in diameter and 11 1/2" in height. They are about 3 smallish splint breaks as shown in the photos, but the basket is structurally sturdy. Basket 2 has a medial sweetgrass braid and a dyed interior. The 4 3/4" in diameter and 2 1/2" in height.

This is a thinly potted bowl depicting the Buddhist's eight auspicious signs which is found on the sole of Buddha's feet. They are the mystic knot, fish, wheel of the law, lotus, canopy, unbrella, conch shell and the jar. The bowl stand on a short recessed foot-rim and into a U-shaped body. At the base of foot-rim, it has the honorific four character seal mark of Qianglong reign. Cir. second half 19th century, possibly from Tongzhi period.

The bowl is in good condition...

DESCRIPTION: A fine, large Chinese boxwood toggle in the shape of a Chinese coin with four script characters on each side surrounding the square hole. Around the edge, various plant and animal forms are carved in high relief, including a flower, bird, squirrel and bat. The suspension cord, connecting it to an object such as a tobacco pouch, would have been strung through the openings under the bat's wings. Wonderful patina, excellent condition, and dating from the 1800's or earlier...

Antique, Southeast Asian, celadon crackle glazed ceramic large figural jar on a circular socle base. The jar has a baluster body, splayed foot, and a short, everted neck. The shoulder of the jar is decorated with five guardian figures, each mounted on an elephant. The figures are finely hand-sculpted in high relief and wear top spiky headdresses, necklaces, and bracelets. They have their hands folded in a prayer gesture...
