A Thai Benjarong stemmed dish, redware, 18th century. Decoration in green, yellow, white and pink. The rim of barbed shape, stem and dish apparently joined together by a charred piece of clay. Height “2 ¼ /6 cm, diameter “6/15 cm. Condition: chips to rim and general rubbing to the decoration.

Carved to fit the hand perfectly, this Japanese ivory page turner offers elegant design combined with function. The artists skill becomes even more evident when the page turner is held. In excellent condition save for one small shallow chip about 2-3 mm, see last photo, very hard to see, but can be felt if you run your finger slowly along the blade. The page turner measures 18.5" x 1.25".

19th century boxwood netsuke of sitting Tanuki (badger) beating on his extended belly as on a drum. In Japanese folklore tanuki is a notorious trickster: he drums with his paws on his large belly (tanuki no hara tsuzumi), imitating the sounding of gongs in temples and inns, and leading tired travelers astray in the darkness. An antique Japanese chest called Tohoku Kasane Tansu made of Kirinoki (Paulownia) wood. All original hand forged iron hardware including the Kakute style handles. Good luck symbols on the handle backplates showing the Sho Chiku Bai motif (longevity, tenacity and beauty). Four large drawers for spacious kimono storage and a hinged door behind which are two small drawers where valuables were hidden away...

Chinese antique Jade sculpture of a scholar rock-like mountain with waves on the bottom and a bat flying over the rocks. The rock contains an inscription which generally reads "Along with similar joyous and pure things". Small Antique Chinese Coromandel screen, 4 panels with scene of children in pavilion setting, inlaid with jade, bone, agate, and mother of pearl on black lacquer ground, details in gold lacquer, Republic Period. Size: 22 1/4" high x 25 1/4" wide x 5/8" thick.

This is a very fine Japanese cloisonne vase done in the style of Namikawa Yasuyuki. It is not signed but we believe it was made by Honda, another great Meiji era artist. The enamels are rich in color and this heavy vase has a superb high gloss sheen. It stands 4 3/4 inches tall and is in excellent condition.

Antique Chinese jade carving of a recumbent horse. Seated on it's haunches, it's hooves curved underneath it's body, the horse looks back over it's shoulder. Details of face, main and tail accent the pleasing arch of the horse's neck. Carved of yellow and brown mottled jade.

This is Japanese Antique Textile Excellent sashiko stitch Farmer's Vest at the Meiji era.(1890~1910). It is the one in the hirosaki provinces in Aomori Prefecture.The indigo dyed cotton and white thread are wonderfully beautiful. All sashiko is embroidered by the hand. It is an exact wonderful, beautiful motif. It is very gorgeous. The state is very excellent and beautiful. Sasahiko of a white string is very valuable in the indigo dye...

A rectangular playing card of the "as nas" game, made of papier-mache and hand-painted in ink, watercolor and gold under lacquered varnish. With clumsy depiction of a lady with two children within an oval frame embellished with foil. Description of the game by the Brooklyn Museum: "The full set of cards for the game of âs nâs, a gambling game similar to poker, contains twenty cards, with four each of five suits...

Each mirror is carved with scrolling floral decoration and silver gilt on linden wood. The main body of the mirror is oxidized and cut. The surround is individually fitted on to outer frames. The mirror is also decorated with a top central crested mirror. *Note the other pair has a replaced mirror. From the Mondavi Estate.

The subject is a metaphor for a failure to reach enlightenment - instead of seeking and understanding the profound power of Buddha’s teaching the monk falls asleep. Nicely carved, wonderful tranquil face, pleasant patina. Width approximately 17.3 cm (across the handles). In good condition.

Gorgeous Japanese antique bronze vase with three swimming fish, detailed with realistic scales and fins, and gilt accented eyes. The backside has a gilt imprinted 14 petal Chrysanthemum, a mark of the Imperial household. The underside of the vase is signed "Shinzui". Hardwood stand is included, along with original tomobako.
