Unusual Japanese Kiri (paulownia) front tansu, with seven drawers for storage and organization. All original finish hardwood.

Meiji period (1868-1912)

Size: 18.5" L x 22.5" W x 33.75" H

Beautiful pair of Chinese hardwood chairs with a dark reddish brown tone and smooth finish. It has an open back with a center support panel, carved with an auspicious Chinese design. The connected headrest and arms run along the top of the chair, with two curving vertical panels on either side. The legs of each chair are carved with squared spiral designs. Size: 26.25" height, 23.25" width, 22" depth

Large pair of Chinese wooden gate doors with hand-forged iron plates and hardware. The pair of doors are opened by iron fu dog heads with large ring pulls in their mouths. The top and bottom iron plates on the front of each door have foliate edges in lingzhi mushroom motifs, with iron studs and horizontal iron bands. The doors have wooden pegs to be inserted into a door frame.

An antique Japanese long low Todana Tansu made of Hinoki (Cypress) and Kiri (Paulownia) woods. Visually stunning horizontal slats on the two sliding doors cover 6 drawers (3 on each side). Original hand forged iron Hikute handles on each drawer. Additional slats to each side. It would make a wonderful sideboard or base cabinet for a TV monitor.

Exceptionally fine and well cast 16/17th Century bronze dancing figure of KRISHNA from Southern India with many details, a wonderful natural patina and clear evidence of prolonged Puja (worship of object). This elegant looking yingqing incense burner, from the late Song dynasty, is round in shape at the top like a ball with a double fluted flange as the supporting base. The cover is a semi-circle with intricately designed holes for the incense smoke to pass through.

There are some small manufacturing defects as seen in photograph 5. There are also many tiny bubble bursts indicated by the minute brown dots over the general surface of the body of the incense burner as in photograph 5...

Beautiful Japanese antique 2-section isho tansu (clothing chest) from the Nihonmatsu area of Japan, made with nice keyaki (elm) wood on drawer fronts, safe box in lower right hand corner opens to two small interior drawers, there is a key for the safe, lovely iron hardware includes large warabite shaped drawer pulls with separate small butterfly details, Meiji Period. Size: 45 3/4" x 43" wide x 17 3/4" deep.

Antique Japanese large woven ikebana basket, used for artistic flower arrangements. The basket body has an open flat plate with woven geometric design. Chiku'unsai is known for adding natural found objects as shown of gnarled bamboo handle. He allows us to see the beauty in this state. The wide, flat foot is signed on the bottom "Chiku'unsai"
