Lovely large figural stele of Pavati, Eastern Java, Early Majapahit, c. 13th.-14th. cent. AD.

The figure is carved in grey-black Vulcanic rock with red iron-oxide patination.

In this sculpture the Hindu goddess Parvati, consort of Siva is represented. It was customary in Javanese sculpture of this period to identify local rulers with cult deities and it is possible that this image of Parvati is intended to represent a deceased east Javanese queen...

A very good style terracotta head of a nymph or deity, Hellenistic period of the Greek city states, 3rd.-2nd. century BC.

Large head of a nice Italian / Sicilian style, probably depicting Arethusa.

Size: 8,5 cm. tall.

Height approximately 22.5 cm. There are several parts not completed. Repaired.

A finely carved jade dragon plaque dating, most likely, to the Warring States - Eastern Han period. The plaque measures 3-3/4"in length and is 1-1/2" at the widest. The stone is a grayish-green nephrite. Guaranteed authentic.

Finely cast, with nice details, miniature statue of bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara, standing on a lotus base, his left hand holding what seems to be a gourd. Bronze, with encrusted reddish green patina, with traces of the original gilding. China, Tang Dynasty. Height: 5.6 cm. The statue is nicely mounted on a custom wood stand. Good condition.

Aprodite is depicted sitting on a rock covered with a robe; she is nude and covering her breasts with both hands. Her legs is folded casually and she wears a elegant headdress with diadem.

Condition: Superb for type, completely intact and unrepaired with remnants of original pigments and patina.

This Taino engraved bone pendant has spectacular patina showing off its antiquity. It is 3 1/4" long. The holes are correct. The skull depiction is mesmerizing.

Description:

An archaic decorative Bi was rarely carved in a material of rock crystal.
Other than the commonly-seen material-jadestone, crystal was used to be esteemed as the precious gem and being treasured among the noble people.
This crystal Bi was carved on both sides with the characteristic grains-motif.
By traditional craftsmanship, the separated dots were lined up by crossing straight lines firstly...

This extremely rare miniature Olmec Jade standing figure is 2" tall. It is made from the finest quality completely translucent jade with the color being evenly distributed throughout. It stands alone on its tiny feet attesting to the great detail of perfect balance and to its authenticity. Small figures such as this are harder to make than the larger ones and are much more scarce. A large greek terracotta figure of a high born Lady standing on a high base, Greek/South Italy, 4th-3rd century B.C.

The bust depicts a lady with a fine gown swept on and she holds it with her right hand. The left hand carries something over her right shoulder. She wears a large headress or crown.

Size: 24 cm. tall.

Condition: Choice and completely intact with remains of pigment and patina.

Ex. Old German Collection, aquired before 1980.

Reddish limestone. Animal battle scene with crossing bulls and crescent moon standard, worshippers in between. A larger seal in an attractive red-orange stone. Isin-Larsa period, Old Babylonian, ca. 2002-1594 BC.

Height 26 mm and diameter is 13 cm., so fairly thick.

Condition: Very fine, smooth wear but intact with a nice patina.

Provenance: The Karl Müller collection, Germany 1950-1977. Comes with COA and his imprint.
