This large, reticulated bronze plaque retains excellent detailing and significant amounts of its original gilding. It measures just under 4" in height and slightly more than 4" in width. Chinese yixing zisha purple clay teapot from Tek Sing cargo, Daoguang period. 16 cm wide, 10cm body diameter, 10cm high. Good condition.

Chinese porcelain figure of a seated Daoist monk. The monk's skin is left unglazed, his draping robes and seat with Sancai "three colors" of yellow, green, and dark purple underglazes. One of the figure's ears is pierced through for gas to escape during kiln firing.

Chinese antique 8-panel Coromandel screen depicting palace scenes of noble men and women. In one pavilion on the far right, a group of courtiers sit at a table and enjoy a game. In the central pavilion, a emperor or high nobleman sits on his throne. Two young servants stand behind him with large fans. Behind them is a large painted screen of mountains. Beautiful ladies dance and pay music for his entertainment...

Antique Chinese hardwood brush pot. Made of huanghuali wood (Dalbergia odorifera) of a cylindrical shape, the base with a slight protruding lip. The front of the brush pot is carved with a stylized bamboo forest; The opposite side carved with a calligraphy inscription and artist's chops. The original finish brings out the natural "ghost eye" woodgrain characteristic of huanghuali.

A Chinese bronze two-handled vase cast in relief with mountains, masks and ribbons, 28 cms., Song/Yuan dynasty, 12th/13th century. Unusually large for a vase of this type, it has had the base plate removed and put back, like many such vases for some reason.

The black silk is couched in gold-wrapped thread with a five-clawed dragon pursuing a 'flaming pearl' amidst blue clouds and waves. Size: 10 inches (25cm) in diameter.

Antique Chinese large bitong or brush pot carved of one piece of huanghuali wood and inlaid with a scene of birds on a blossoming branch and a poem. Inlaid materials include bone, stone, lacquer and shell. The poem translates as: "Birds flying in a line, the tree is blooming, the blooming flower is falling to the ground, the spring mountain, one group of birds fly over the valley, sound makes a lonely sound"...

A rare dated Chinese bronze tripod ding, well and deeply cast with six flanges divided by archaic designs below two loop handles. Inscribed on the rim Chongzheng 3rd Year (1630), and with two further inscrpitions. 22 cms high. Weight 3.1kg. Late Ming dynasty. Private UK Collection.

During the Qing Dynasty, Chinese court gentlemen and ladies used elaborate hair styles. To assist in these construction of the "hairdo's", they used a wire form was covered with a mesh fabric. This particular "cap" was used to cover a bun of hair on the center of the head. The silver flat "hairpin" was used to hold the cap in place by pushing it through one side hole, between the hair bun and the scalp and through the other side hole. The inside of the cape clearly shows its age and use.

An unusual Chinese cloisonne enamel bowl, Qianlong, decorated inside and out with red lotus flowers and green lotus pads on a blue ground, the centre of the interior and the base each with a pale green lotus pod. 18 cms diam., 10 cms high. Heavily cast. 830g. I have seen this design on a couple of moon flasks, but never on a deep bowl such as this.

A Chinese Longquan Celadon Bowl. Circa, 1368-1644, Ming Dynasty. Found in the Philippines. Featuring deep walls rising from a tall foot and is decorated with slender chrysanthemum-like petals encircling the exterior and its interior with a carved decoration. It is covered overall in a green celadon glaze except for the unglazed firing ring on the base. Measurements: height (8cm), diameter (11cm) across. Condition: in perfect condition. No cracks, no chips, no restorations...
