He is shown sporting a potbelly, grinning as he holds his robe open with one hand and tugs on his belt tie with the other. His back features a small compartment for the placement of prayers. Antique Chinese Qing Dynasty (1644-1911 A.D.) blue and white Porcelain vase of baluster form with a flared neck, finely hand painted underglaze in a vibrant tone of cobalt blue, with 10 writhing five-clawed horned dragons chasing flaming pearls amidst flames and the clouds. the base, painted in underglaze blue with a six-character mark.

This is a charming old cloisonne teapot from the later part of the Qing Dynasty in China. During this time period the traditions and culture of tea making and drinking had evolved to include the appreciation of tea articles as art objects in addition to their utilitarian purposes. This is a well-hollowed, Flattened, Rectangular with rounded shoulders tapering towards base, with long rounded neck , with a raised splayed oval recessed footing, snuff bottle. It is made from deep green with black vertical bands malachite. It is carved, in high relief, with a scene of birds in a pond amid lotus plants. It comes with a like material stopper.

This particular object appears to be the support of a large bronze base, as shown on a picture of similar objects exhibited at the National Historical Museum in Beijing (cat. Superb Canton silk hand embroidered coverlet panel, circa late 1800-early 1900, featuring a turquoise background with an overall floral design, a centered peony, bordered with flowers in vases and bat motifs in vibrant shades of reds, greens and orange. The coverlet is made in two panels and measures 54" x 77". The linen backing has been removed showing only border remnants. The condition is near mint with minor fading of the background color...

This nicely carved jade (jadeite) pendant is 2 ½” long, 1 ½” wide and ¼” thick. It is a late 19th or early 20th century product. It is carved on both sides as a twisted RuYi (如意) scepter with LingZhi (靈芝) ends surrounded by a small unknown plant. A small lucky bat is sitting on top of the carving. It is in great condition.
