Two 19th Century rare gilt-lacquered wood figures of Bodhisatva with round bottom. Each measures 6-3/4”in height. Excellent condition.

A carved hardwood figure depicting the Daoist Immortal Liu Hai holding his three-legged toad. This item was made in China, possibly for export, during the 19th Century. Condition: there are aging cracks to the base and minor chips and old bumps. 33cm (13 inches) high. Weight: 1.35kg (3lb)

Antique wooden carving of a Chinese Lohan, which in the Buddhist religion is a state of enlightenment right before becoming a Bodhisattva. He is shown making religious hand gestures called mudra, and wears a painted red robe. His back has a small hollowed compartment into which prayers would be placed. Ming dynasty (1368-1644) Size: 26" height, 8.5" width

A Heavy & Old Wood Stand. Diameter approximately 21 cm. Weight approximately 600 g. There is a hairline crack. In good condition.

A small finely carved hardwood panel, with gold lacquered border, depicting a Scholar on a bridge in a mountain landscape and encased in a silver wire inlaid frame. The panel and frame were made during the reign of the Guangxu emperor (1875-1908). Condition - the frame has been crudely re-glued and would benefit from restoration； the panel itself is in excellent condition with no damages or losses. The frame - 22.3cm (8.8inches) high; 10.6cm (4.2inches) wide...

Lavishly inlaid with engraved mother of pearl. Dimensions: 30,5 x 18 x 11 cm. Exceptional good condition with almost all the inlay still intact, only some minor pieces missing. The wood has some age cracks and one of the long sides is a bit crooked. The brass corner pieces are all original.

The two Chinese bamboo root carvings are about 12 inches tall, 5 inches wide and 4 inches thick. They came as a pair but can be displayed separately. They were carved in the late 19th century. Both depict wild geese. Their heads are turned toward a lotus and some unknown plants are behind them. The taller of the two is a little darker. Beside some small cracks and chips they are in fairly good condition.

A Chinese wooden ruyi sceptre, delicately carved and pierced with trailing dragon. 19th Century. Length: 19”. In good condition with normal wear.

A large and magnificent pair of Chinese fu lions ready to guard your home and protect you from evil spirits. The hand-carved foo dogs are solid wood and sit on platforms or separate bases that not solid. The male foo dog has a decorative ball under his left paw while the female dog has a playful pup lying on its back under her right paw. The dogs are in very good antique condition with normal wear and surface cracks expected with wood carvings of this age and size...

Eye catching 19th century root wood brush holder. The exterior is beautifully polished. Ching dynasty. It measures 4.75" tall, 4" wide.

1800s

The wood appears to be old jichi wood that is exceptionally well-carved with twisting tree trunks of pine and plum intertwined to form the body, while stylized pine needles and plum blossoms encircle the perimeter. The pine and plum trunks are carved to show their contrasting textures. The piercing and depth of the carving give an energetic quality to the piece. Based on the carving, this stand was not intended as a fitted stand for a particular vase or sculpture...

A very finely carved hardwood ox or buffalo, surmounted by a young boy, on original stand, probably made for export during the second half of the 19th Century circa 1850-1900 . Condition - excellent - one glass eye of the boy is missing but, unusually, there is no damage at all to the sculpture and there has been no restoration. The Ox - 30cm (11.8 inches) long; 15.5cm (6 inches)high...
