A nicely shaped plate with floral design with bat and peach motif painted on the underside for good luck. Nyonya wares are over-glaze polychrome enamelled porcelains made in Jingdezhen in the Kiangsi province of China for the Straits Chinese, or Babas, whose female counterparts are called Nyonyas, hence the term Nyonya ware. Nyonya wares were mainly reserved for festive occasions and special functions. Size: 19.5 x 13.5cm. Condition: No repairs. Normal wear.

A Chinese Longquan Celadon Jar with Iron-Spots. Circa, 14th Century, Yuan Dynasty. Found in the Philippines. Featuring a small ovoid shaped body, topped with a flat rounded cover and is covered overall in a green celadon glaze with iron-brown spots, except for the foot-ring. Measurements: height (3.5'inches). Condition: there is a very small rim frit on the jars mouth but is overall in very impressive condition. No cracks, no restorations...

An Antique bamboo armrest carved a line of verse in running cursive on it. Qing Dynasty. The armrest is in excellent condition. Dimensions: 12-3/8" X 2-7/8".

DESCRIPTION: A Chinese eight-sided footed plate with raised base and blue under-glazed decorations featuring two pavilions by the water (each reversed so the plate can be viewed upright from two directions), surrounded by key-fret and floral borders. A bride of the Yi Chinese Ethnic Minority in Yunnan Province, would have worn the "cock" hat for her wedding day. The hat is made using layers of cotton fabric with a stiffiner between the layers to maintain the shape. Using colorful cotton thread, hat was extravagantly hand embroidered. A few traditional silver ornaments including the bubble, flower and butterfly were added.

Now, it is the very lucky Yi girl who can use her great grandmother's bridal hat for her own wedding...
