This is a Song dynasty (960 – 1276) porcelain cosmetic box and cover. The sides and bottom half is ribbed to look like a melon form, the recessed top is moulded in the form of a stylised double flower with a short stalk. The box is covered in a pale bluish glaze of yingqing type, which pools in the crevasses to an aquamarine tone. The rims and base are unglazed, exposing the white porcellanous body underneath...
An elegant and fine ink-stone (Shezhou, Anhui) made of carved, dark schist with minor, green-brown inclusions. One “eye.” Two small feet at top end. Fitted and finely carved lid of chicken wing wood (jichimu). The inscription reads: “A treasure from the Zhishi shanfang.” In a Japanese box from the 19th century (with full inscription). China: Qing, probably 18th cent. L 16,5 cm, W 11 cm. Condition: Excellent (small chip in ink-well).
A beautiful Chinese snuff bottle in pebble-form carved from white-black mottled jade. The stopper is made from coral or coral-imitating glass, with bone spoon. The flask needs standing help. Condition: few traces of usage. Dimension: c. 6.3 cm height.
This carved ox horn statue of a fairy is an early 20th century product. It depicts a fairy with one hand holding a flower branch while her other hand is holding a bamboo basket with more flowers inside. It is 10 ¼” high (11 ¼” high with base), 3” wide from the bottom and 2 ¼” in depth. Aside from small chips on the bottom rim, it is in great condition.

This late 19th century reverse glass painting is 13” x 19 ½” (20 ½” x 26 ¾” including frame). It depicts two birds surrounded by a rock garden, peony and plum blossoms. The translation of the calligraphy is: “Seeking refuge to escape the tyranny of the times; seeing those beautiful blossoms, it seems spring has begun the new year.” One of the signature seals on the top reads “Shao Xi;” this is the name of the artist. Antique Chinese blue and white charger with two phoenixes standing one in front of the other, surrounded by flowering motifs upon a solid cobalt blue background, floral and speckling patterns along the inner rim. The underside has a rugged foot outlined in a single blue ring, and swirling patterns. Dates from the Ming dynasty. Most likely recovered from a shipwreck.

Large Chinese Warring States Impressed Pottery Jar (475 - 221 BC)
This large and attractive pottery jar was made during the Warring States period (475 - 221 BC). It is made from quite a high-fired grey pottery. It has wide globular body and a short flared out neck. The outer surface below the shoulder has been decorated with repeated impressed geometric patterns comprising, at the top of each impression, two horizontal lines below which are many vertical lines...
Found in the Philippines.
These identical jars feature a translucent green Qingbai-type glaze that pools on its carved lines. Its moulded structural form is covered by a roof tiled lid. Their base remains unglazed.
Measurements: approximately, H 6”inches.
Condition: both are in excellent condition.

35 mm, D 50 mm. The second one is oval shaped, looking like a chimera with wings. Dimensions: H 32 mm L 52 mm. The third one is a bird holding a branch in its beak, with an oval base. Dimensions: 34 mm, L 44 mm. All are made of gilt bronze, with a fine patina. Gilding partly missing, otherwise very good condition.
