Japanese Meiji Period bronze USUBATA vase. The vase sits on a tripod base and has the design in silver inlays of a small rocky island with pine trees under the moonlight and with the ocean with waves around it. Stamped KAMETANI on the bottom. The vase measures 11 1/2" tall, 12 3/4" diameter at top and 7 1/2" diameter at base.

Signed Eihō 英鳳 on the back, the base with Junjin (pure silver hight quality) 950+ high grade silver. Japanese early 20th century period bronze USUBATA. This USUBATA is wonderfully designed with rabbits and a utensil to pound rice cakes with. The rabbits, one on each side form unique handles for the USUBATA flower container. Unsigned. It measures 11 1/2" tall, 11 1/2" in diameter at the top and 6" in diameter at the bottom.

A mirror made of copper with wood stand which is one of "Sanshu-no-Jingi", the Three Imperial Regalia. In ancient time, all natural objects and phenomena were worshipped in Shinto, but three items such as mirror, jewel and sword are objects to be worshipped later. A mirror is often put in the shrine pavilion these days. This mirror is rather small, so it might have been put in a house shrine. In excellent condition with molded auspicious design with a crane, a turtle, pine trees and bamboos...

This unique and stylish bronze vase has a beautiful shape. Two charming elephant trunks extend from the neck of vase on either side with a floral, geometric background. Near base, Japanese Taotie, ogre-like characters, and curvy designs spread around the vase, adding intriguing detail. Vase also includes a copper inset that can be removed. A cigarette case made of iron, partially damascened in different golds and silver, inspired by the famous sculpture of the American artist James Earle Fraser (1876-1953) "End of the Trail", which he designed in the late 19th C. The interior with the Otojiro's mark with dragonfly. Condition: traces of usage, two tiny retouches, tiny scratches, elastic band tired, not perfectly closing, interior with left below corner slightly corroded (last photo). Dimension closed: c. 8.6 x 8.1 cm.
