A good Nabeshima dish from the Nabeshima clan’s Okawachi kiln of oval boat shaped form, perhaps inspired by the boat shaped ingots, sychee or yuanbao, and decorated with an auspicious pattern of a pair of Goldfish swimming amongst water weeds. A pair of large Seto tall baluster vases each decorated with scattered Peonies and Chrysanthemums reserved against an elaborate scrolling arabesque ground with moulded shishi ring faux handles.
Each vase measures 37cm high, just over 14.5 inches high. The diameter of the mouth of the vase is 11cm, just over 4.25 inches, and the base measures just under 11cm in diameter, 4.25 inches. Each vase is signed Kato Mokuzaemon. The vases weigh approximately 1.975kg and 2.2kg respectively.

A rare sake-daru (Sake Keg) made of piled woven bamboo in combination with Japanese red lacquered pine. This tsuno-daru has two horn-like staves with inscriptions, a cross piece forming a carrying handle, and a wooden plug that pulls out. This saki barrel dates pre 1920. Kato Shuntai (1802-1877) Japanese Antique Shino Ware Chawan Teabowl made for Tea Ceremony Wabi Sabi
The seal of the potter is stamped on the bottom.
Kato Shuntai is a notable potter from Seto area, Aichi prefecture who lived in the late Edo period.
He followed his father profession as a ceramist at the age of 15 and soon he received a name Shuntai from Tokugawa, the 11th Daimyo of modern Nagoya.

Rare Nakamura Donen (1876-1937) Mishima Ware Chawan Bowl with Gold Repair Kintsugi.

An unusual Arita blue & white porcelain plate, circa 1700 - 1750. A smaller dish with similar moulded and gadrooned edge and border of spiky foliage is in the Victoria & Albert Museum, London. FE.66-1970. An identical dish, dated from the first half of the 18th century is kept at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.
The base with an apocryphal Chinese Ming Chenghua reign mark and 5 spur marks.
Approximately 21.2 cm diameter. Perfect condition.

This is a Japanese edo antique indigo dye silk katazome child kimono of ise- lobster pattern.There is a light stain, but not outstanding.It has no damage.
They are not disturbing, and as a whole it is in very good condition.

Baby's ceremonial kimono made of machine woven cotton with hand-painting with motif of noble people. It has se-mamori (charm) with silk thread. The diagonal stitches to the left means it is boy's kimono ( to the right is girl's ). In old days, it is believed that evils come from back and a baby is vulnerable without seam in the back, so se-mamori is put. In good condition but a bit dusty from aging. Dry cleaning only. A carpet made of recycled washi fragments which were daifukucho (merchant's record book) or letters, and kakishibu (persimmon tannin) painted for strength and waterproof. It was generally put over tatami mats protecting
them from sun beam or dust. It has letters "Kanei 6 (1853)", very late Edo period. It has rips, holes and moth bites. 204cm x 192cm
