Large two-door shrine holding inside the figure of Kujaku Myoo sitting on a lutus dais on the back of a peacock. Kujaku means peacock and is revered for transmuting the "poisons" of greed and anger and for eliminating karmic hindrances. The peacock (in India) eats poisonous plants and snakes and is thus thought to guard against evils from poisoning or calamity. Kujaku has four arms, holding a pomegranate, peacock feather, and either a lotus flower or a Buddha-fruit (one attribute is missing)...

Large shrine, zushi, made on special order for a temple. Inside, right in front of the back wall is a silk covered panel. Towards the bottom of the panel, on a gold background, are painted Fugen Bosatsu on his companion the elepahant, and Monju Bosatsu, sitting on the back of his companion the tiger. Above them, set in the center of a red painted circle is a circular crystal reliquary, sitting on a gilt bronze lotus dais, surrounded by gilt bronze flames, forming the wish granting jewel hojugata...

Small iron lantern of rectangular format stretched in height with its base. The paper comes from a book page of classical Japanese literature. This writing is developed from the 8th century and is borrowed from the Chinese writing.

Inside, one half shows the bodhisattva Kokuzo carved in relief with a sword in the right (to cut through ignorance) and a wish-granting jewel in his left hand. He sits on a lotus base, placed on a rock. Details of the carving and the background painted in gold, black, red and malachite green. The other half shows a lotus pond, a rock and a cloudy sky painted in delicate lines of gold and silver, heightened with black...

A one of a kind huge bronze lotus temple basin with a dragon wrapped around the base and coming over the top as a water fountain. The base has bronze shishi in relief. C.1880. Stands over 6 feet tall and 5 feet wide. We had the fountain installed. Comes in two pieces; the base and the basin. Excellent condition with a minor dent in the tail of the dragon. Kawaguchi Bunzaemon Basse Taille Silver Vase Marked, circa 1900's

It is 8.5 inches (21.5 cm) tall by 4.5 inches (11.4 cm) wide.

It has black spots at the enamel, a small spot of tarnished enamel underneath the opening with enamel cracks, and surface wears and scratches. It also has tarnished metal and dents at the metal's bottom's rim (as seen in the photos).

Antique Japanese tall bronze vase in the form of a section of a cherry tree trunk. The tree has been pruned and it's new growth is just starting to blossom. 5 bats flit around the trunk. Details like the texture of the cherry tree bark, the faces and fur of the little bats add a life-like feel to the scene. Made for use with dry branches or an insert for water (not included).

This is a wonderful Ando signed Gonda cloisonne vase. The vase is combination very complex wireless and silver wire work, with a hint of moriage enamel. The lower flowering lily pad is moriage. The vase stands 12 1/4 inches tall and is in excellent condition.
