This is a large attractive cloisonne vase that we have had on display for many years. It is not signed and we're not sure of the Artist. It stands 24 inches tall and is in excellent condition. The smaller stand is included. The tall hardwood stand it is displayed on, stands 40 inches tall and is available.

Japanese Amida Buddha statue, gold gilt over wood with inlaid crystal third eye. Seated on a lotus throne atop a hexagonal base, carved with smoke and flowers. The left hand mudra showing Varada: a gesture for granting and fulfilling all wishing as well as bestowing mercy and charity. The raised right hand is cradling a golden ball representing enlightenment and everlasting knowledge...

Early 18th Century Japanese Two Panel Screen Painting featuring a spectacular Phoenix. Exquisitely painted with silver leaf on paper. Original brocade borders. A signed classic Kakiemon Japanese Porcelain Vase by Meiji Period artist, Ucho, featuring a wonderful flower image with gorgeous, brilliant under glaze red on pure white glaze. An interesting dish decorated with an Arita Kraak style export pattern, see Mededelingenblad Nederlandse Vereniging van vrienden van der Ceramiek nr 101/102 plate 29 for the almost identical pattern executed entirely in underglaze blue. 19th century Japanese small lacquered wood netsuke representing a theatrical mask of Namanari. The mask is mostly used in the play The Cursed Metal Head-Ring for the role of the wife who is crazed with jealosy beyond any possibility of redemption. Uncommon image, excellent ferocious face, long lower jaw resulting in wide open mouth, great patina. Crisp detailing, nicely lacquered, some wear to the surface. Japanese Merchant Chest, Tansu for keeping documents, Meiji Period 1880, 20" deep, 16" high, 12" wide, with 3 graduated size drawers, Cear wood box or chest with black iron hinges, handles and lock button, wood grain is beautiful and the condition is original and some wood irregular surface on one side.

Original woodblock print by Helen Hyde entitled "Baby Talk". One of her most famous prints. The print has "Copyright 1908 by Helen Hyde" printed within the lower left hand oval border. Fine impression and color. The title, "Baby Talk" and the print number - 178, are written in pencil. There is also the number and 64281 written in pencil below the lower middle border. The paper measures 21" wide and 13 1/2" tall. The print measures 18 3/4" wide by 12" tall.

A fine and rare 19th century Japanese cloisonne bi-fold table screen in the Kyoto school of Namikawa, depicting a ho bird and dragon. The finely coiled wiring is gilded, as are the back panels of the screen. Each cloisonne panel is wood framed, joined with hinges of silver. Fully opened, the screen measures 8" high and 9" wide.

Condition: Quite fine, with only wear commensurate with age.

A Japanese wood carving of a seated figure, probably the poet Matsuo Basho (1644~1694), the most famous poet of the Edo period. 19th century or earlier. Fine old patina.

This middle or late 18th century Japanese wood netsuke is 3 ¼ inches tall, 1 inch wide and ¾ inch thick. It was carved from unknown softwood and not signed. It depicts a famous Chinese historical character GUAN YU. His right hand is holding a weapon (long handled knife) and his left hand is holding a book called ¡°Spring-Autumn Annals¡±. It is in great condition.

Antique Japanese choba tansu (merchant's chest) made with keyaki (elm) wood burl on the front with sugi (cryptomeria) wood frame, 9 drawers and compartment with sliding panels, original finish with beautiful patina, Taisho Period. Size: 39 1/2" high x 33 3/4" wide x 16 1/2" deep.

Very large tile in the shape of (and virtually in the size of) a handscroll decorated in underglaze blue with a crashing wave and a full moon. The image is surrounded by borders of geometric flowers and medallions filled with a phoenix. Some of the phoenixes looks left, others look right. Medallions colored in underglaze pink and yellow.

On the back are two ‘loops’ to hang the tile up...
