This is a rare and large wireless cloisonne vase. It is not signed but because of the Iris flowers and water plants we believe it was made by Gonda. In fact we once had a signed Gonda piece with Koi and almost identical water plants. A beautiful large vase that looks perfect but upon very close inspection, a line deep in the enamel can be seen in bright light. I show it on the last image. This vase 18 1/2 inches tall, heavy and stoutly made.
This is a Edo Period Child kimono of Hemp Indigo dyeing Kasuri Echigo-jyofu. Chinese phoenix, butterfly, cherry tree.It is a very beautiful indigo dyed linen. It is in very good condition with no stains or damage.

A pierced fragment of an antique Tibetan or Nepalese torana, worked in copper repousse with remains of gilding and colors. Showing a caparisoned elephant with a snow lion on his back, lifting a deity riding on the mythical beast "sharabha". Condition: wear to gilding, slightly warped. Dimension: 36.5 cm high x 15 cm widw x 2.5 cm deep.
A beautifully carved sculpture of a lady in an erotic pose, Gandharan, ca. 1st.-5th. century AD.
Clearly inspired by classical greek and roman art. She is holding her longs strands of hair and wearing garments that exposes her naked shoulder and arm. Archictorial piece, impresive size. Some remnants of pinkish pigments still on the surface. Mounted to a metal base.

A massive and important ceramic vessel, anthropomorhic design, Quimbaya / Calima Culture, Cauca valley, Columbia, ca. 600-1000 AD.
This exceptional massive redware vessel was found in the village of Virginia in the Cauca Valley. Anthropomorphic design depicting a male figure with a fat belly and hands holding something(?). His headdress or hat has a relatively small hole at the top (mouth of the vessel) where we imagine that straws for sucking up liquids was inserted...

A beautiful axe, long slender type with mounting hole to the back and a slightly curving blade.
Size: 13,5 cm. long
Condition: Superb, fine green patina with a dusting of earthern encrustations.
This axe comes from a find in Germany and was offcially exported with a license.

A Malay Brass Belt Buckle with Niello patterning.
E20thC. Length; 9 1/4" (23.5 cm). Condition; some wear and lac missing, repair to fitting.
Ancient Chinese bronze gui, a food vessel used during rituals. Round form body with high, round foot and two handles. The shoulders of each handle is decorated with animal heads. A band of archaic motifs wraps around the body and the foot.

Neolithic era ceramic amphora, Yangshao Culture, Yellow River area, China. This baluster form vessel is made with a narrow neck and slightly flared rim. High shoulders taper downward to a narrow foot. Two strap handles are attached just below the center of the body. Painted with geometric patterns in red and black mineral pigments.

A rare Japanese antique Sado Island Child's Kimono Tansu made of Kirinoki (Paulownia) and Suginoki (Cryptomeria) woods. Original natural Urushi wiped lacquer finish with hand forged iron hardware. The lock plates feature cranes and sea turtles that symbolize longevity and the drawer corners feature stylized clouds.
Children's kimono tansu are quite rare to find since they had to be custom made by the tansu maker...
