A fine quality five colour Arita shallow saucer dish decorated with Cherry branches and storm waves, arashi-nami, awash with fallen rafts of cherry blossom. Presumably the design is a play on the words nami, wave, and hannami, cherry viewing, and the design derived from a contemporary or earlier textile pattern. A refined antique Chinese painting done in a style similar to Western style paintings. These paintings were thought to be done in the Canton Concessions in Guangzhou during the late 19th century. Often these works depicted scenes of daily life in the streets of the Qing Period. This particular view is showing two martial artists showing their skills. A very rare well-potted and painted 8.25" Ko-Imari model of a standing boy reaching into an urn. The boy's face is painted with black hair and features a gilt head band. Both his robe and the urn are painted in blue, orange and iron red.

Condition: Excellent, with no chips, hairlines or repairs.

This late 19th century Chinese ceramic seal paste box is 2 ¼” high and 3 1/8” in diameter. It depicts an orange red playful lion (Shi Shi) on white background. Aside from some crack lines due to firing, it is in great condition.
