A starkly traditional tsubo showing off the plethora of effects garnered from the inferno in an Anagam kiln by Furutani Taketoshi titled simply Shigaraki Shizen-yu Tsubo. Large, robust Madara-Karatsu mizusashi with undulating ribs around the circumference of the pot made by Karatsu specialist, Kojima Yoshiaki. In excellent condition with its original signed box, this mizusashi measures 22 x 18cm.

There is a nearly identical example of a mizusashi by Kojima Yoshiaki in the book, MODERN JAPANESE CERAMICS, pg.75, no.54.

This piece is almost identical to the work submitted by the artist to the 7th Nihon Dento Kogei Ten in 1983 (featured as item number 116 in the catalog for that year) and indeed, shares the title Hi-iro In-mon Tsubo (Flame-Colored Stamp-Patterned Tsubo).
