This buoyant pair of large brooches were constructed & signed c.1930's by Mexico City artist Frederick Davis(1880-1961). Each measures 3 1/4" long. The design is pictured on p. 80 of SILVER MASTERS OF MEXICO by Penny Morrill. Both pins are in beautiful condition. Pin backs and safety locks are in excellent working order. Each hallmarked FD SILVER MEXICO.

Rafael Melendez worked for Spratling when he first opened his taller de las Delicias. Melendez left to open his own Taller in 1939. This is one of his earliest marks that was done in 980 silver. Some of the Silver repousse links have Matl like glyphs. The silver sets up the onyx stones in the cross giving it great depth and dimension. Spratling designed this impressive pendant in the 1940's. Measuring 3 1/2" x 2 1/2" the piece is beautifully detailed with 4 beveled cut amethyst stones & a center cab set into thick silver frames. The sterling chain in the style of Spratling measures 20" long. Together the cross and chain weigh 87 grams. The piece is in beautiful vintage condition. This retro brooch with three claw-set round brilliant cut genuine diamonds circa 1950s is well-made; it measures 2-1/8" x 1-1/4" pin is stamped 18 K and BIRKS. A handsome pair of Edwardian cufflinks worked in 18K yellow gold. The round faces are set with concave mother-of-pearl plaques, each centering a bezel-set pink sapphire cabochon. A handsome gentleman’s ring, the front in the form of a horseshoe encircling an onyx cameo carved to depict a steeplechase scene of a jockey and horse leaping over a fence. Interestingly, the carver chose not to polish the black onyx background, perhaps to lend a more masculine feel to the design. The shank is finished in a reeded pattern. Tested and guaranteed 18K.

Stunning and very big vintage gold and genuine angelskin coral ring with 10 diamonds. Circa 1950. Marked 14K and also with a maker's mark which I cannot interpret. Substantial at 12 grams. A fine pair of vintage 18K yellow gold earrings in the Venetian Etruscan style. Each earring features a 1.52 amethyst cabochon surrounded by smaller cabochons.
