Very interesting and gutsy sterling handmade pin by the famous modernist, Sam Kramer(1913-1964), c.1950. Unique and dimensional, it has an applied silver design atop a round disk. A terrific pair of earrings in the form of round shakudo plaques set in 14K yellow gold borders. Each of the matching Meiji-period discs features a Japanese immortal or scholar along with a fearsome dragon. Details of the dragon’s scales and fins and the man’s staff are picked out in gold and copper highlights. The gold borders are simply decorated with a ropetwist motif. A pair of acid etched brass Arts and Crafts period brooches by Marshall Field & Co. Chicago. Larger brooch measures 3 3/8" long and 1 1/2" high. This elegant necklace by Los Castillo features thick links in the shape of Leaves done in heavy sterling silver repousse. Very well made with links connected by a pin rivet to give the piece movement. Measures 15" long, 3/4" wide and is nice and heavy at 98.4 grams. Hallmarked Los Castillo Taxco, Sterling Made in Mexico, 329 and the eagle 15. It has a secure box clasp and is in good condition with a lovely patina. One of the nicest (and heaviest) examples of this design we've seen.
