Look dashing at the party or office wearing this fanciful vintage gold tone reindeer tie pin. Straight out of the 50's. Cast and finely detailed, this piece of American costume jewelry was made by the Ballou Company featuring a red rhinestone eye and curly antlers, signed Ballou Reg'd on pinch lock. This early Antonio Pineda bracelet is quite rare and all out spectacular. His "Silver By Tono" hallmark dates 1948-1953. Eight teardrop amethyst cabs in almost pure silver panels which alternate up and down, each separated by four silver balls. Pin closure. Weight is 98.9 grams. Measures 8" end to end, width 1 1/4". Closed, wearable length is 6 3/4". Signed and hallmarked "Silver By Tono Mexico". In excellent vintage condition.

 

Today we are offering from the taller of Margot de Taxco a large floral necklace and matching bracelet. This design 5488 comes in two sizes with this being the larger example at 1.25in. tall. The repousse is thick silver and both pieces have a combined weight of 115 grams. The bracelet is 7in. long and it will hook into the necklace for a long chain. The necklace is 18in. long. Both are properly hallmarked as shown. Without dents or any type of damage just LOOK AT THAT NECKLACE!

Jade is this fall's fashion stone. This eye-catching large cabochon jade stone is high mount prong set in the center of this fashionable vintage gold tone cocktail ring, stamped inside with letters HMS. Ring size is 6 3/4". Stone measures 3/4' x 1/2". Condition is excellent.

This fine Modernist Bracelet by Antonio Pineda features open work links with two panels overlapping creating a unique design. Measuring 7 1/2" long by 1 1/8" wide and it weighs a heavy 126.6 grams. It has a secure box clasp with an attached safety chain and shows only light age related wear and tarnish. Hallmarked with the Antonio Crown, Taxco, JVL and the eagle 208. There is no mark for the silver content but it has been tested to be at least 925 silver...

A particularly nice mid-century 14K yellow begging poodle pin, the eyes, nose and tongue set with bright cabochon rubies. The dog is completed with a white gold collar set with diamonds. The gold has a Florentine finish to represent the clipped areas of fur. The brightness of the rubies and the perky attitude sets this poodle pin apart. The clasp is marked "14K."

Gerardo Lopez was and is known to have made these gorgeous pectoral necklaces that really say it all about the fashion of Mexican silver in the Spratling era. This example is correctly hallmarked as shown and has no damage of any kind. The patina is natural and untouched for as long as I have owned it for several years. What is most interesting is that when you look and compare to another there is often a design element a little different between each other. The drop is 4in. across and 4in...

Spratling often used an arrow or an arrowhead in his designs. Here he pairs 925 sterling silver with matte onyx in each arrowhead link for an eye-catching combination. The necklace measures 17" long and 9/16" wide. The earrings are 1" high and inlaid with chrysocolla on the front panels. Together the necklace and earrings weigh a comfortable 57 grams. This DeNicola Aires brooch is gold plated base metal, with rhinestones, non-vitreous enameling and faux jade(thermoplastic). This brooch is 2 3/8" x 1 3/8" .

This brooch is unsigned. The cartouche with the name is missing or never put on . DeNicola figural brooches often have the star which is the difining characteristic of the designer in this series of 12 brooches. I have seen this item listed as hight as $750.00

A Vintage 18k white gold diamonds cocktail ring from the 1950s. This attractive and flashy size 5-1/2 ring is in 18k white gold, and the genuine modern brilliant cut diamonds include a 19 point SI-2 J-K center stone with 40 single cut diamonds (70 points total, VS-2 to I-1, G-H-I). Margot Van Voorhies was definitely the Queen of the Mexican Silver Renaissance. After her divorce from Antonio Castillo she began her Taller Margot De Taxco and created the most wondrous of jewels. This repousse necklace shows her finesse with movement. The reverse repousse gives great dimension plus the drop will detach then becoming a brooch. (look at the underside photo to see the hooks) The drop is 1.5in. tall and 1.25in. across. Made from thick silver and weighing 50 grams...

This is a Los Castillo design made by Hilario Lopez who worked for several Tallers through his career(of which one was Margot de Taxco) and he was an accomplished Maestro. The construction is open backed repousse but it is framed in heavy silver making a respectable 80 grams heavy. There is lots of bead work executed on this design and it is in impeccable condition. If you could find an original Los Castillo of this rare design it would cost at least twice what this one costs...

This flower pin is well molded and nicely detailed, making an impressive statement. It is secured by a rollover clasp and appears to have been hardly worn. The back bears a maker's mark of what appears to be Dunez Originals. It is marked sterling and measures 3 ½ in. long by 2 in. wide. Weight: 15 grams

These unmarked Mexican earrings feature lacy wirework on a half-moon-shaped frame. They test strongly for silver and sit perpendicular to the ear. They date from the 1950s and are secured by kidney wires with hooks. They measure 1 3/8 inches long by ¾ inch wide. Weight: 7 grams total

This necklace has a classic form and, in certain light, looks to be plated in two colors of gold. The beautiful surface condition is a result of a rolled gold-plating process used by the Newark, NJ, firm of Krementz & Company. The exotic design is reminiscent of ethnic jewelry, composed of graduated pointed vertical drops alternating with ovular beads. A braided chain with spike and drum closure completes the retro design...
