This is "The Armadillo" cuff. (The necklace is no longer available). It was designed circa 1945-50 by Valentin Vidaurreta and made by master silversmith Manuel Altamirano who worked for Valentin and also for Hector Aguilar. It is featured on page 198 of the book SILVER MASTERS OF MEXICO by Penny C. Morrill. The cuff is 5 1/2" around in the inside plus a 1 1/2" opening. It is 1 5/8" wide in the front and in fine all original condition with no damage or repairs...

Bold and striking long sterling earrings designed by Karl Gustav Hansen for Hans Hansen of Denmark. These earrings are from the "Future" line of jewelry manufactured by Hans Hansen between 1932 and 1948. They hang 3" long, are 1/2" wide at the bottoms and are screw backs. Weighing 15 grams total, they are in fine original condition. A fabulous Modernist design.

Plateria Cecilia has produced a very nice rendition of Mexico City folk work. The stones are warmed teal turquoise, dark red coral which looks Mediteranian and an amethyst that is jelly clear purple. The center Medallion is 2 inches tall and the bracelet is 1.25in. tall. There is 7.25in. of length and also 60 grams of silver.

This amazing bracelet by Hector Aguilar is quite unique in that is made in Sterling Silver Vermeil. Known as the "Linked Circles Bracelet" and featured in the book Silver Masters of Mexico on page 63.It measures 7 1/2" long by 1" wide and weighs 77.9 grams. Hallmarked "Sterling Silver, HA, Made in Mexico". It has a secure box clasp and is in good condition with only light signs of wear. A very beautiful bracelet and a rare find for the collector.

Vintage pair of sterling silver screwback earrings set with 5mm and 6mm Mikimoto pearls. This is the classic style produced by Mikimoto in the mid-20th century—beautiful pearls set in the simplest possible way so that the pearls take center stage. The pearl quality is very nice—estimated at A+. They have an ivory body color with rose overtones and the luster is bright. The backs are marked with Mikimoto’s hallmark.

A stunning 18K yellow gold Retro necklace designed as a series a barbell-shaped links, interspersed at the center with a row of bezel-set old European cut diamonds. The links conceal a hidden stretch mechanism that allows the lower edge of the necklace to spread a bit so that it sits comfortably on the body without buckling or twisting. Ca 1940 A heavy, solid sterling choker and bracelet by Jensen USA designer, Laurence Foss( 1920-2014). It features hand applied, raised sterling leaves with beading. The choker weighs 63 grams, is approximately 16" in length and just shy of 1/2" in width. Both the bracelet and choker are marked with the LF logo, sterling, 450. The bracelet weighs 29 grams and is 7"x 1/2".

Dating in the 1940s, this massive sterling silver and azur-malachite "mozaico Azteca" inlay pendant necklace is signed by Taxco maestro Jose Anton. I am more used to Anton's repousse work yet from time to time, I do come across some examples that feature overlay and, as in this case, stone inlay. What impresses me here is, of course, the generously sized pendant with its "warrior" silver inlay in profile as well as the detail of the eagle figure floating in the air next to it...

This is a Rafael Dominguez turquoise bracelet made before 1948 and properly hallmarked as shown. The weight is 58 grams heavy and is 1.25in. wide. It is 7in. long. The silver is thick and Dominguez is know for his high quality workmanship. Dominguez is a noted maestro in Penny Morril's books. When you own a Dominguez piece you know you bought the best! The stones are beautiful and have no chips or cracks. The piece looks fantastic with the turquoise drippy necklace also listed on my site.

This is an impressive Hector Aguilar bracelet. Vintage dated to 1940-45 because of the earlier 990 mark making this one more rare than most. Weighing 51.2 grams and 1 1/8in. wide the chain is heavy and the gage of the medallion is thick silver. I was quite surprised the first time I had this design in my hands because it was a larger piece than anticipated from photographs. A lovely addition fit for anyone's collection.

This iconic Spratling brooch was designed c. 1940's by American & Taxco, Mexico artist William Spratling (1900-67). The pin stands 2 1/2" tall X 2" wide and weighs 41 grams. This clamper bracelet is circa 1940's. It measures 4" from top to bottom. The hinge is 3/4" long. I have not seen many Mexican, of this type in brass. The design is wonderful. The colorful abalone looks lovely in brass. The inside is marked HECHO EN MEXICO. It is in great condition.

Vintage Signed Sterling Silver 5 dome pin brooch with "C" catch marked: MAISEL'S STERLING for the Albuquerque New Mexico maker of Native American jewelry of years past. It is 2 3/8" X 1/2" @ widest, this being the smallest dome at 10mm while the mid one is 13mm. Slightest hint of a very shallow dimple that even the camera won't pick up and the "C" catch is a bit askew yet very secure.
Similar seen recently on Jane Russell in an old black and white western movie.
