An early Taxco treasure, this Mexican Deco cuff bracelet is both generous in weight and wrought in fine, .980 silver. The design is classic for the period and I have seen all-silver versions of it over the years by anonymous and recognizable names, that of Emma and La Cucaracha being among the most famous. The marriage of silver and copper that we are treated to here, however, I have never encountered before...
Classic and classy this fab Los Castillo necklace will astonish you with the way it feels and looks once you have it on. An iconic Taxco piece with its cascading festoon links and its playful teardrop repousse dangles the design draws from Mexico's long Spanish Colonial tradition. Much heavier than the unsigned imitations that surface from time to time, it wears like a dream and has a very strong visual effect...
One of my favorite female designers of Mexico's 20th c. Silver Renaissance (and admittedly, they aren't so many to begin with), Carmen Beckmann was a rather flexible maestra, able to create in many different styles. using a variety of materials. Her jewelry can be massive and jaw-dropping but quite as easily delicate and more sophisticated...
A well crafted, hand wrought curved link necklace with a central pendant in sterling silver by Cape Cod gold and silversmith, Ross Coppelman. Marked Coppelman and Sterling. This is one of his early pieces before he starting working with gold and precious gems.
The lightly hammered necklace measures about 18" around, hard to get an exact measurement due to the shape and curvature of the links...
Wonderful deep carving on this sterling silver bracelet, signed by artist, titled "The Bear", 1970s era.
Measures 1 1/8" deep, is 6 1/4" on the outside, with a gap of 1 3/8", and is slightly flexible.
In the traditional Northwest Coast form, the bracelet is curved, with abstracted form lines creating a cultural figure, in this case, a bear.
The work is especially fine, very deep carving with cross hatching and detailing over the entire surface...
An unusually large Art Nouveau enameled violet pin /pendant worked in opaque white and purple shades over 18K gold. The petals are arranged around an old mine cut diamond (I/J; SI1). In Victorian flower symbology, purple violets conveyed the sentiment "modesty" and white violets conveyed "innocence." Perhaps the colors chosen for this piece were intended to represent a mix of meanings. The back retains the original pinstem and clasp, as well as a bail so the flower can be worn as a pendant...
A French Retro 18K gold dragonfly brooch, the wings star-set with rubies and sapphires. The dragonfly’s body is worked in a stylized geometric design. The brooch currently has a double fur clip fastener, but would look stunning as a pendant necklace on a split chain (adding a small bail at the tip of each wing is very easy.)

Of hollow construction and graduated thickness, with angular sides. The top surface of the bracelet has been machine-etched in a tight zig-zag pattern. The hinge has a good spring and the bracelet has retained its shape and sits nicely on the wrist. The inner circumference measures 7 inches; the bracelet opens to 1 ½ inches to slide over the hand. It is light and comfortable to wear, with a classic neat look. It has the Italian post-1968 mark for sterling. Weight: 15.6 grams
A classic Victorian fancy double belcher chain link necklace composed of interlocking fluted double links in 14K gold. The fluted shape of the links enhances the reflections in the gold, so the chain has a certain sparkly quality. Substantial enough to be worn alone or suspending a large pendant or locket, the chain can also be worn wrapped three to four times around the wrist as a bracelet. The links are also open enough that the chain can suspend multiple smaller pendants or charms...

Here is an interesting portrait in silver, of a wind-swept young person clad in a cloak and hood. It’s very detailed and just lovely. We think it’s a boy (very unusual in jewelry), as the hair seems to be quite short under the hood. The hood itself looks like a cap made from a flower, as seen on fairies in Victorian children’s books. It measures 1-1/8” wide, is hollow, and is marked “STERLING TOP GERMAN SILVER BACK”. The sterling front is in very good condition. “German silver” ...

A vintage hammered sterling silver circles necklace and bangle bracelet in the style of the American Studio Modernist jeweler, John Lewis. These examples are both signed 'jb' and sterling, but it is unclear who this was and if they had any relationship to Lewis. They are even signed the same way but with jb instead of the crossed JL.
The necklace has a lightly hammered texture, circles are various sizes. Measures 18" long with the widest circle measuring 7/8". Very delicate, weighs 8 gr. ...
Jewelry hosting carved stone hearts in silver settings was very popular in the Mexican Deco period. Teased out of jasper and agate and oftentimes even dyed calcite, the hearts are unfailingly curvaceous as if pulsing with life, their sculpturality shamelessly inviting the touch. The carvings usually dominate the piece with the silver-work providing discreet framing and even though the motif was taken up again in the post-1980 period, the later examples lack the vivacity of the old pieces. Here i...
Design 5161 is a Margot de Taxco masterpiece of beads and swirls. Hallmarked correctly as shown with a 100 gram weight showing off quality repousse and a generous 18 inch wearable length. The drop is constructed with 3 links which measures an expansive 7 in. It leads up the neck without intrusion to the sides of the neck. It makes a perfect silhouette and lays in a well thought out manner. I have seen this design connected to the inside link of the drop and it stuck out rather oddly this one is...
This Coro rooster in gold plated base metal with black beak, eye, and feet and a red. The enameling on the tail is white with gold feather accents. The rooster stomach is a large amber colored crystal which measures 1 1/4 x 3/4". The stone shows an indention in the glass which appears to be smooth like it was a pour problem rather than a chip.

Ainsworth he was working for John Grandall(please refer to picture of appraisal) please note that the appraisal was done Oct. 5 1979. Each connecting ring is soldered closed. Clasped, the necklace measures 17 inches long, including the pendant.
A very handsome pair of 18K yellow gold cufflinks, the square faces set with calibré cut blue sapphires in a raised frame. The sapphires have deep, saturated color that contrasts very nicely the surrounding gold. The surfaces are expertly engraved in what at first appears to be a basketweave pattern, but is in fact a complex plaid pattern. The cufflinks close with an unusual snap mechanism that requires the ends of the back baton face to be pressed in. Each cufflink is fully stamped with Fr...
