These wondrous bumble bees are a Margot de Taxco signed creation. She is known for her fantastic enamel work. The earring clamps work and are the thickest best working clampers I have put on. The enamel is PERFECT. These are a published design in the Penny Morrill books on the Mexican Silver Renaissance.

The secure box clasp bears what appears to be the maker’s mark of Beto, as pictured in Bille Hougart’s Mexican silver marks book, third edition, p. 27. The eagle 22 is the most legible mark; the others are not entirely clear. The chain measures 27 ½ inches long, unclasped. Weight: 38 grams

Made by Pegi Werkstätte, this bar pin feature three impressionistic enameled flowers in pink, blue and red, with green stems, on a dark blue background. It has a secure C-clasp on the back, and is made of a gilded base metal. The back is marked with the maker’s mark and the city, Duisberg, barely legible on the worn surface. The front enamel is in lovely condition, the colors bright, no cracking. The pin measures 2 3/8 inches long by about 7/8 inch wide.

Any actor, actress or lover of theater would appreciate a whimsical comedy and tragedy broach made of 18Kt yellow gold, from the 1960's. This wonderfully executed classic symbol of the theater is three dimensional, and has polished and satin finish bringing out its irresistible charm. The heavy broach is marked 750 (18Kt) has a makers mark KG, and measures 2” wide by 1 ½” high.

Stunning Taxco modernist sterling silver pendant necklace this set seems to borrow stylistically from both Antonio Pineda (in its use of the black velvet cord) and the Los Ballesteros workshops (in featuring that huge gemstone). The signature it bears, however, attributes it to a listed yet still unidentified Mexican maestro whose work I have had before but about whom we don't really know that much...

His work was featured in the 2002 exhibit “Jewels of the Southwest” at the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture in Santa Fe, NM...

A vintage unsigned Navajo silver and turquoise necklace and matching bracelet. This set consists of the 8-1/8" bracelet and the 15" necklace; the (tested) silver beads include tubes, elongated barrels and balls and the turquoise stones are natural and lightly polished. One of Antonio Pineda's most spectacular bracelets and highly sought after by collectors is his "Spheres" bracelet.
