Nye was educated in public schools before entering the Corcoran School of Art at age 13...

A circa 1960's or 1970's lithograph of two female figures, in the typically dream-like fantasy style of the noted 20th century artist LEONOR FINI (1907-1996). The work is numbered in pencil 32/200 at lower left and signed in pencil at lower right with the signature of the artist. A truly international person all her life, Fini was born in Argentina and grew up in Trieste, Italy. Soon she was in Paris, associating with figures such as Andre Breton, Max Ernst and George Balanchine...

Stanley Anderson 1884-1966 British This is a rare early drypoint etching by British artist Stanley Anderson. The title is: Perivale, a small town outside of London. This etching was created and printed in 1911. The image measures 5 3/4X9 5/8 inches. Hand signed in pencil lower border and titled lower left border. Printed on a medium weight watermarked with initials, laid type sheet. Fine use of plate tone in the sky area.

Original woodcut circa 1930's, the subject a man working machinery in an urban setting with high rise buildings, stamped at lower right margin with the estate stamp of American artist IRVING GEORGE LEHMAN (1900-1983). The work is unframed and currently housed in a mat, and is taped at extreme top edge in two places, to that mat. There is a roughly rectangular pressed-in area of the paper at lower left and some wrinkling of the extremely delicate thin paper at bottom...

Lithograph on paper, 15 3/4" by 11 1/2", titled on reverse original Associated American Artists label "Mexican Girl", pencil signed at lower right by the listed Mexican artist IGNACIO AGUIRRE(1900-1990). Aguirre was a painter and graphic artist, who produced this work in cooperation with the Associated American Artists at mid century. He was a member of the prestigious Taller de Grafica Popular, perhaps the premier graphic artists group in Mexico in the middle years of the 20th century...

A circa late 1930's to early 1940's painting titled on the reverse "Molas Lake and Needle Mountains, Silverton Colorado", signed at lower right by artist C. H. Rising. The oil on canvas measures 12" by 16" and is unframed. A light cleaning would be helpful but you could just throw a regular sized frame around this and enjoy it on your wall. Nicely executed work by a talented yet apparently unknown artist. The mountains are well painted, streaked with snow of the previous winter...

A beautiful fresh example of a 1969 poster featuring the work of famed Mexican artist RUFINO TAMAYO (1899-1991), **HAND SIGNED** by the artist in ballpoint pen at lower left just above the white "Tamayo". Daniel Tretiak tells us that in 1967 Haku Maki produced an alphabet series, Poem A-Z. He did all the letters of the English alphabet. This is Poem W, a strong rendering of the hiragana for You. Large oil on stretched canvas by the American artist Wesley Webber (1839-1914), identified often as a White Mountain Artist for his images of northern New England, depicting a bucolic farm scene, with lovely river and meadows, people and farm animals with houses in the background. A good c1770 British miniature portrait of a older gentleman, with the artist having cleverly displayed the wrinkles of age. He is dressed simply in the style of the time, wearing a wig, a white stock, and a gray coat.
