In the style of noted California artist Ellen Burpee Farr, this is a classic late nineteenth century watercolor of the distinctive leaves and "berries" of the pepper tree commonly seen in Southern California. Signed at upper left "A.C. Hough" (or "Haugh"---I don't see a listing for either name), this is a beautiful study that is possibly not finished (the leaves and berries at lower right---could be the artist's intention, or simply unfinished---you judge)...

This is a PAIR of color aquatints, each 8 1/2 by 12 1/2" inside the framing, 11 3/4" by 15 3/4" as framed, the subjects Notre Dame cathedral and the famous booksellers by the Seine in Paris, and (I believe) the famous column at the Place Vendome, each print numbered at lower left out of editions of 500, and signed at lower right in pencil, by the noted French 20th century impressionist painter CHARLES BLONDIN (1913-1991)...

A beautifully done Horace Hone portrait, painted on natural wafer, signed and dated "HH 1782" on the right. The sitter might well be Mary, Viscountess Dillon, as she bears a great resemblance to another portrait Hone did of her. A miniature portrait painting by Abraham Parsell, done in his recognizable style with a multicolored background and the sitter having somewhat frizzy hair, posed with his arm on a chair. Housed in its original cast foliate frame with a glazed rear aperture. The original leather travel case comes with this piece, although it has separated at the hinge and held in place with a safety pin.

The painting is 2 3/4" by 2 1/4". Condition is excellent with no cracks, bowing, paint loss or restoration...

Antique original lithograph of a standing nude by Julius John Pommer (American, 1895-1945). This wonderful nude dates from the thirties. It is dedicated l.l. and pencil signed l.r. Offered framed.
