A circal 1960's watercolor painting of the famous 17th century church of Santa Prisca in Taxco, Mexico, and its picturesque sub-tropical surroundings, signed at lower right "Marco Antonio", "Taxco Gro.". This is a rather typical work of the noted Bermudian artist ALFRED BIRDSEY (1912-1996), the full sheet affixed to a board measuring 18" by 23 1/2". Birdsey was a familiar figure in Bermuda for decades, a prolific artist, the works of whom traveled home with tourists to the island. This would account for the wide distribution of his distinctive work. Today his daughter continues the family tradition, with similar looking paintings being sold to visitors...

Esther Anna Hunt (1875-1951) is known today in California art circles as a keen observer of the traditional culture as displayed in San Francisco's Chinatown. Her paintings and plaster bust models of young girls in traditional costume make regular appearances in auctions of California art. This work appears to have been created by one of Hunt's many early 20th century imitators. The watercolor is signed at lower right corner "A. Fowler" and is dated there April 1912...

Watercolor on paper painting of redwood, sequoia or pine tree trunk in a forest, unframed, 9 1/4" by 7 3/4", signed at lower left "Mary Inez Tidwell". The work is possibly a fragment, as the top edge and right edge in particular seem to indicate that there might have been more painting at one time; however, there are pin holes in the upper corners and indications of round tacks having been there, so possibly the painting is as originally created...

An American circa late 1960's to about 1970 still life painting in oil on rough side of the Masonite, 18" by 14" (24" by 19 1/2" framed), signed at lower left possibly "Pardoe". The red poppies are beautifully rendered and the richness of the red contrasts with the deep blue of the vase. Condition is excellent. A very decorative painting, in a frame of the period.

Circa 1960's drip painting on paper, 22 1/2" by 18", unsigned, mounted to a thin board. This is not a Jackson Pollock or Sam Francis, but it is a work of art and it has age. The thin paper is glued down at least at the edges and possibly in the center as well. The paper is browned where it has been under the mat for many years, (about 1 3/4" to about 1/2") and there is puckering where the paper has been glued...

A poster issued in 1968 by the Galerie Bradtke of Luxembourg, to celebrate an exhibition of the works of Spanish modern artist LUIS MOLNE (1907-1970). The poster is issued with a patronage by the Prince of Monaco, Prince Rainier, husband of Grace Kelly. The image features a young girl, the predominant colors blues and brown. I would think this a serigraph rather than lithograph. Condition appears to be excellent (not examined out of frame)...

A wood engraving on thin paper, the sheet unframed and measuring 8 1/2" by 11", pencil titled "Wadcroft, Kettering, Northants", and pencil signed at lower right and numbered 71/100, by the artist, American artist LEONARD THIESSEN (1902-1989). This is a mid 1940's work by the Nebraska-born artist. Thiessen's father worked in printing in Omaha. The young Thiessen went to work for an architectural firm, and studied at university in Nebraska. He became an interior designer and decorator...

Watercolor on paper painting, 10" by 14" inside the mat, (18 1/2" by 22 1/4" as framed), signed at lower left "Nolte", and bearing a note on the framing paper suggesting this to be Hidden Harbor, Maine (the word "Southwest", as in "Southwest Harbor", being crossed out). I believe the scene depicted would be on the famous central Maine coast, on Mount Desert Island, best known as the location of Acadia National Park. The drawing is executed in ink with watercolor. I do not know of a listed art...
