Oil on canvas, simply framed in wood, the canvas measuring 35 1/2" by 30" (90 cm. by 76 cm.) on the stretchers, signed at lower right in the wet paint and dated there "10-4-1996". This is a work by a popular and well regarded Indonesian painter, DJOKO PEKIK (1938-). The works of Pekik (sometimes spelled Pekek) have sold to at least the $40,000 level at auctions of Southeast Asian paintings in Singapore and Hong Kong...

Large folio size print, sheet measuring 18 1/4" by 24 1/2" inside the mat, 27 1/4" by 33 1/2" as framed, titled at bottom. This image was produced by Currier in 1868, but I believe this example to be a high quality hand colored RESTRIKE of a later date. It's a great image, with grandparents in their snug Victorian 1860's New England interior, a roaring fire and their granddaughter indicating the other seasons of life. The print is in excellent fresh condition; allow for reflections in glass...

For the collector of marine or maritime art and antiques, a color drawing, 12" by 28" with simple 3/4" wood frame, depicting what appears to be a ferry boat of the first part of the century. There's an initial signature at lower right that looks like "HWS" or "AWS". The work is a multi-media piece; it appears that pencil, colored pencil, pastel and even white gouache were part of the mix. The tan paper is thin almost tissue like; it is wrinkled in many spots (see photos)...

For the fans of the "Big Eye" paintings, here is a pair of mid century retro style works in oil on board, each 23 1/2" by 11 1/4", and each signed at lower right. The signatures are hard to decipher; I'm guessing "Balmiani" or "Dalmiani". If I am reading them at all correctly, I am not able to tie these names to any of the listed, recognized big eye painters. Regardless of authorship, these are sure to please the devoted big eye collector...

Swanson" and titled in pencil on the backing board "Green Valley Church", along with the original $340.00 price. This watercolor is by a skilled hand, though I cannot seem to find a listing for the artist. There is a listing for a RAY Swanson (Cowboy Artists of America) is listed, but this is not that artist...

This is a beautiful DOUBLE SIDED watercolor dated 1883 by the hand of listed American 19th century artist BENJAMIN FITZ (1855-1891), measuring 11 1/2" by 18 3/4" plus about 3 1/2" of liner and modern frame. I am not sure as to the authorship of the loose dry landscape on the reverse, which might be later and by a totally unrelated hand...

Lithograph, 14" by 21" inside the mat, signed in the stone at lower right, from an unknown edition possibly of about 5,000 examples, the title "Ma de Proverbis", 1970. This is extremely clean and fresh with bright colors not having suffered any fading from light exposure. The piece is accompanied by a bright green mat and simple black metal frame of the period. Allow for reflections in glass.

The title is "Daphne and Apollo", the imagery consisting of idealized male and female figures with leafy trees in the background, creating a most interesting and modern composition that looks almost like a "solarized" photo...

Oil on canvas painting of a small house in the trees, 22" by 26" (28" by 32" framed), signed at lower right "Stahl" and dated there "42", titled on reverse "In Laurel Canyon" and signed and dated again there. This is an early work by the important, well-listed American illustrator artist and art educator BENJAMIN A. STAHL (1910-1987). Stahl was Chicago-born, and traveled to Mexico and apparently California as well, before settling into Weston, Connecticut and eventually, Sarasota, Florida...

Large example of the work of the much-storied American artist "T. Bailey", circa 1910, measuring 24" by 36" (32 1/2" by 44 1/2" framed). This is the largest example I have been able to find, after a search of the auction records...

This is a circa mid 20th century still life lithograph of a pineapple, pomegranate and other fruit, signed in brown ink at lower right and numbered 41/90 at lower left by noted School of Paris artist ROGER CHAPELAIN-MIDY (1904-1992). The artist's works bring into the five figures at auction in the US and Europe, and the still life is his specialty. This print measures 12 5/8" by 9 3/4" (20 5/8" by 17 3/4" as framed)...

This is a wall-ready unusually fresh and clean lithograph, hand colored, titled "Millard Fillmore/Whig Candidate for Vice President", by New York competitors to Nathaniel Currier, J. Baillie and Company. The coloring is green in the curtains and just a hint of blush on the cheeks. Size is 13" by 9" inside the double mat. There is clean double matting (rich forest green matching the curtains and inner mat is tan), and the black frame with a bit of gold inner edge. Overall size is 18 1/4" by 1...

Woodblock "Calme.'truck' " by Paul Jacoulet 1941, showing two Polynesian lovers in a scenic outdoors setting. Signed in pencil "Paul Jacoulet" with a red butterfly seal with title and date. Jacoulet was born in France in 1902 but lived his entire life in Japan studying and mastering woodblock technique producing 166 masterpieces.
