Sepia-toned photograph of coconut palms in Hawaii, seemingly in a rice paddy type setting, framed apparently circa 1930 give or take a few years (there being an original old framer/art supply label from Pacific Picture Framing at 1050 Nuuanu St., ("below the hotel"), Honolulu, T.H. (Territory of Hawaii). This would appear to be a downtown Honolulu address, perhaps known today as Nuuanu AVENUE. The exact age of the photo is hard to determine. It is in excellent condition...

The portrait sits within an oval frame bearing the Latin inscription 'IMP. CAES. CAROLVS V. AVG.' The frame has been set into an alcove featuring fluted Doric columns, an eagle, swags of fruit and allegorical female figures, such as those of Germany and Africa at the bottom of the plate.
