This is a medium folio size (lithograph 12 5/8" by 15 1/2" inside the mat, the sheet " by ", and as framed 20" by 22 1/2") by famous American printmakers Currier and Ives. Judging from internet offerings of the image by major print dealers around the nation, the print is a popular one, although it is not among the so-called "Best 50". Note the horses, the ducks and pigeons, the turnips, and the hogs at left. All in all, this is a peaceful scene of another America in another century...

"Skull" news paper pulp sculpture with polychrome colors and red foil eyes size 1.5" 2.5" 1.5" unsigned .The photographs don't do them justice. This c.1925 etching by William Meyerowitz measures 7 7/8 x 9 7/8 inches, plate and pencil signed, framed. Meyerowitz studied at the National Academy of Design in NY and is best known for his development of producing etchings in color. His work is at the Metropolitan Museum of Art; Carnegie Institute; National Academy of Design; Harvard University and the Library of Congress.

A circa 1920's to 1940's old reprint of the much-loved classic Currier and Ives lithograph "American Winter Scenes", with a horse-drawn sleigh heading towards the snug home at right in which a party appears to be held. The piece measures 23 1/2" by 30 1/2" in what I believe is a birdseye maple frame. Condition is very good, vintage condition. The original 19th century lithograph is very expensive; this reasonable alternative will provide the same decorative punch.

Francoise Charles Cachoud, French, 1866-1943. This pensive and beautifully painted French Country House Scene in the moonlight is another wonderful example of Cachoud's genius with light and shadow and contrast. It is oil on canvas 23" by 28" in a period 3" frame for dimensions of 29" by 34".

A very well-painted mid 20th century copy of the famous 1864 HONORE DAUMIER (1808-1879) painting of two Moliere play characters, "Crespin et Scapin", (sometimes known as "Crespin et Silvestre"), that original now hanging in the Musee d'Orsay in Paris. Here is a prize for the collector of Californiana----an idealized view of a mission in the golden days of yore, painted around 1935 I would guess. There is a signature at lower right that appears as Y. Arnold or similar. The painting is on a coarse weave canvas, almost like burlap or jute, laid down on an old board, on the back of which is a color print of a landscape. Size is 30" by 24" including the simple narrow wood strip frame...

Joseph Mallord William Turner,(attributed to). This oil on canvas is 8 1/8" by 12 1/2" in a 3 1/2"carved guiltwood frame. It is in excellent condition and is signed and titled verso. This artist is considered a romantasist or a impressionist precursor. He is known for landscapes, lakes, castles, ruins, ships, coast lines and his paintings command up to $1,000,000.

Original signed poster for the Whitney Museum showing of "For Example", a 1972 movie by Shusaku Arakawa (1936-2010), from the Mechanism of Meaning project by Arakawa and Madeline Gins. This framed poster is in excellent framed condition and is signed in pencil lower right by both artists. We also have an original mixed media painting by Arakawa available, from the early sixties. Both pieces come from the same New York estate.

Haku Maki liked to do prints of turtles or tortoises. This one, Poem 70-6, has two turtles, the smaller drawn to resemble the hand-written kanji for turtle. The print is 197 of 202 and measures 12in x 12in.
