Chinese antique porcelain brush container with unusually detailed scenes skillfully incised into each of its four sides. These pictorial reserves show figures in various scholarly pursuits including the study of written texts, scroll painting, playing music and board games, all in garden settings with various trees and vertical rock formations. The body of the container stands on four small corner feet. Glazed a turquoise blue and incised with a Qianlong mark (1735-1796)...

Chinese pair of carved jichimu wood stools. The curved legs are carved with cusped edges and narrow to lingzhi mushroom shaped feet. The seats are inset with white dali marble.

Chinese antique small display shelf with stand, made of hong-mu. A staggered shelf in the middle breaks up the square area. The front and sides of the unit is carved with delicate lined details and cusped edges. On each side of both the top and bottom shelf is a little window (four total) and the back is open. The underside of the base has a black lacquer panel painted with a butterfly and chrysanthemums.

Offered are two fabulous Arlington Chemical Company Diagnostic Allergen Test Kits which were used to test skin sensitivity or allergy to a wide variety of potential allergans. The two boxed sets date to the 1940s - 1950s era and are in very nice condition. Both boxes are covered in a grained, leather-like material. The larger box shows wear as seen in the photograph.

The larger boxed set contains 38 vials which are nearly empty and sport complete paper labels...

Rare semi antique supplementary warp silk embroidery on handspun indigo cotton, blanket from the diverse Tai ethnic group Vietnam/Laos. I collected this in Chiang Mai around 15 years ago and would date it around 50 to 90 years old. Nowadays you just can’t find this sort of textile anymore. Some minor embroidery losses but overall in very good condition. Dimensions: 80cm/31.5in x 137cm/53in.

Fenton Bicentennial Eagle Paperweight, Chocolate. Fenton made this in Patriot Red, Liberty Blue and White. They never explained the reason for the color Chocolate -- but we understand the red/white/blue ones. In mint condition about about 4" round and 3.5" tall.

Richly enameled with vibrant colors this snuff bottle features a bee headed towards a group of flowers. The cap is a red stone and the bottle is hand painted and signed on the bottom. A nice piece for the beginning collector which will only increase in value over time. Measures 3.75 inches high.

Series of 4 Chinese Horse drawings by Xu Beihong. Black ink on paper mounted each in a silk border. Each drawing depicting a different horse pose. All signed by the artist with various seals.

Provenance: Purchased from the estate of a retired professor from the University of Paris France many years ago.

Condition: These prints have never been framed, they have been kept in a portfolio. Some yellowing to the silk borders.

Kushan Islamic turquoise blue glazed oil lamp with elongated spout, pad base, tall neck and flared rim. The lamp measures 5 ins. in length. The turquoise glaze has a black design detail and a wonderful iridescent surface. The top of the rim chipped, superb color and glaze, and overall a very fine example old restoration and reconstruction as is usual with pottery of this kind. Provenance purchased in Iran in 1968 please see image showing copy of original purchase invoice.

The entire front of the cabinet is decorated in kyungbur technique (designs and pictures painted in raised lines of a gesso and resin mixture) on a deep red ground. Unlike many of the pieces in the genre of Kyo-ware, this tea bowl is decidedly demure in appearance. Milky, flowing glaze pools in places along a backdrop of ivory and coral pink sides, contrasting nicely with the rough, unrefined clay of the base. In the center of the kodai is a decorative swirl pattern reminiscent of the yin and yang.

The potter, Kanpu Kawanabe (1873 - 1947) was born into a family of weavers but went on to be trained in many of the arts related to tea ceremony...

The back of the patinated bronze head with the two initials "V.N." standing for Vietnam, work attributed to the Vietnamese artist Nguyen Thanh Le (1919-2003). A wondreful Chinese wood panel with three goats, an auspicious symbol of peace, harmony and good fortune. The panel was painted with red lacquer and then gold gilt was applied. As a decorative piece it would look great over hung over a doorway or above a large painting. In very good condition, it measures just short of 24 inches long by 7 3/4" high.

Japanese Meiji heavy Silver clad Charger with Geishas , fine sculpting with great details such as the hair and clothing patterning. The charger is unsigned fine condition. Weight 872 g and is 9.75" diameter and stands on 3 small feet.
