A pair of doilies from Afghanistan, with gul-i-peron discs and extensive beadwork, mirrorwork. They are in excellent condition and measure 19 x 19 cm. Intricate ladder stitch and button hole stitching are the embroidery techniques, plus metal thread and Bukhara stitching. These doilies were made for a woman's dowry and would form part of her trousseau. Estimated age mid to late 20th century.

The fabric is fine cotton, solidly worked in brick and satin stitch in silk thread, the colors alternating between green and orange, pink, blue and purple. It measures 3 1/4 inches x 31 inches (8 cm x 78.5 cm) and is probably from either Ghazni, Jaghori or Nawur areas of Ghazni province, or else from Daykundi and Dayzangi in the province of Orugzan. This hand made gold plated cloisonn¨¦ and turquoise bracelet is 7 inches long and half of an inch wide. There are eight turquoise pieces surrounded by a butterfly design. The workmanship is wonderful. Aside from missing one small wire piece on the side, it is in great shape. It is an early 20th century product and is from the collection of a retired Hong Kong jeweler. The back has a woven pattern.

Very long antique Chinese necklace with Baltic amber beads, some carved, in dark butterscotch and cognac colors. Guaranteed genuine natural amber. The beads are mostly opaque. The color is dark orange to dark cognac. Smooth round beads are spaced with larger carved beads along the strand, which is hand knotted, with a goldtone filigree clasp. A large framed woodblock print by artist Ouchi Makoto (1926-1989). Ukiyo-e style images of fierce warriors and a demon appear in the two front paper blocks, and have kanji that has been cut from the tops. A beautiful maiden appears in the third block, while a large wave appears in the last, a nod to the famous woodblock artist Hokusai. Ouchi has created great depth with his techniques of color gradation, shading, and perspective. The piece is signed at the bottom in pencil, and numbered 5/60...

This Chinese Famille Rose brush holder is 5” high and 3 11/16” in diameter. It depicts an old sage and his young servant in a garden. The Chinese title of the picture is "Mr. Yuan-Ming admires chrysanthemum blossoms." The date on the side of the brush holder is winter, 1925. The artist’s name is Tu Zhu-Zhung. There is a red maker’s mark on the bottom which says New China Company, Nan-Chang City. It is in excellent condition.
